^^To each their own. I understand where you're coming from and I in no way intended to imply that I did not like Bad Brains. I'm just stating my opinion (despite the fact that I did not grow up in/experience this era/have the privilege of seeing either band play live)

p.s. not ashamed of myself. I can't understand why you think so poorly of Ian MacKaye. Explain?

Whoops... dude, I was totally being silly. I apologize. I wasn't calling you out or anything. However, I really do dislike MT and in particular Ian MacKaye. I found him to be pompous and arrogant while trying to be likable. It wasn't working. His constant preaching was also annoying. I came to the show to hear the music so shut the fuck and play. If he thought for a minute that kids were at his shows (at least in those early years) because they wanted to hear his message more than the music... he was retarded.

When I went to a BB show I got what I paid for (which I, along with everyone else, paid very little)... raw music and intense energy. No filler bullshit. An hour of pain and entertainment.

Like I said, I could be baised because of my age, where I grew up and my experiences but I really don't like MT or Fugazi. I'm not really saying they suck because I sure as shit couldn't play a chord on a guitar so who am I to say such things. But yeah, they suck.

I saw Bad Brains in 95.

They only played their reggae shit.

I felt as if I had gotten taken.

I listen to Attitude every day.

Because I am trying to have a strong PMA.

I also listen to Sailin' On quite often.

It makes me want to date a dude just so I can break up with him.

And sing that song as a message on his voicemail.

That will probably never happen.

HAHAHAHAHAHA......That sailin' on shit would be priceless!!!

But yeah I'm not a fan of Ian MacKaye but i do have to say, i enjoy fugazi every once in awhile. But BB alongside MDC and The Dicks is almost everyday!

This fall has been good for shows in SF.

I heard the original Bad Brains lineup was playing, and was bummed I missed it. Then SUNN0))) and Weedeater played, then Flipper, followed by Boris, then Crime. Arrgghh...I either have other plans or no money whenever the good shit happens.

how was flipper?

"how low can a punk get" all day!

"I heard the original Bad Brains lineup was playing, and was bummed I missed it."

From what I've heard you're not missing much, HR lost his brain to crack a long time ago, unfortunately. I missed seeing the original line-up back around 90-92 when HR left and saw a so-so show (It's really not BB w/o HR). Got my chance a few years back to see the true line-up and HR just stood there refusing to sing because people were moshing!?!? They quit after like 2 songs, rip off. I do hear they do fairly well when they play NYC, but even then I've heard mixed things- HR going wild and doing flips and shit to HR just standing in one place the whole time.

I'm not sure he actually answered the questions...

Yup "don't blow no bubbles."

Btw those supreme Bad Brains Vans could be found on eBay for relatively cheap prices.

It's funny I walked into supreme to checkout the bad brains line and a bunch of 15 yr old hood hypebeasts was like "yo imma cop the shit right here. This shit lookeded dope it's gonna match my [insert corny nickname] sb's". These lil niggas had noooo clue what they what they were copping.
