Posted September 30, 2012 Share Posted September 30, 2012 Yeah right now you can't find them under $200 for the 2 car NON powered set, the 4 car set which has 1 powered unit with Proto sound and 3 non powered goes anywhere from $400-600+. Back in 1998 when they first came out the 2 car set was $79.00 and the 4 car set was $150. MTH (RailKing) lost their contract with MTA because they put out the R17s with "graffiti" and the MTA told them not to release it because they didn't want the image of graff associated with them or the logo, they did it anyway and lost the contract so now they became collector pieces... Luckily I was able to find someone selling both sets for $345 recently, so I told my wife I had no choice to scoop'em up. LOL it worked... those are the R42 design...
