Doodle
Thanks for the crits banana, i appreciate it! I liked that about this thread before too. I see what you mean, i haven't really done many panoramas so it was tough to execute. This was done with my point and shoot canon ELPH300. The stitching software i used that came with the camera cut out a a lot from the pictures i'll try and re-do it maybe it will look better but the person int eh photo is my friend and i thought it looked nice but it makes sense to only focus on the architecture. these subway tunnel photos are bad ass, i love the lighting. Need to contribute more. On a sidenote - yesterday evening some junkies tried to rob me in my own fucking hallway, they were after my camera mos def, but did not get it. Fuckers. I figured the person was someone you knew. I also focus heavily on photographing people around me. I only suggest the architecture thang because architecture naturally follows principles of designz so it makes it easy to identify and communicate that with thee photographin'. Personal opinion on people is that they can be difficult cuz they so finnicky. One minute they are centered and the next they move and mess everything up! Or they talk and their face looks awful. It isnt their fault. They people. Moving and talkin is what they do. Anyways Id be interested to see what you come up with! These are for a um "home tour" I did for a midcentury blog I write for. Filmzies. The lighting in that house was difficult. Me house. I like my windows.
MrChupacabra
Shitties, this thread is for people to post their own photos. If those are your photos, my apologies/disregard that, but I'm doubtful. BFish, Porra, OMG, Marco killing it these past pages. Couple snaps from Utah 2 weeks ago. At Brighton. As always, not that sorry about the size.
Deine Mudder
Shitties, this thread is for people to post their own photos. If those are your photos, my apologies/disregard that, but I'm doubtful. This thread should definately be re-named "Your digital photos" or something, the way it is, it is confusing. MrChupacabra
Except a lot of it isn't digital. And it really isn't confusing unless you just come in, don't look at anything, and start posting pictures. Not that its really an issue any which way. Deine Mudder
Okay. YOUR PHOTOS, or YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY then. Or something. Right now we have The Photography Thread - which sounds like a general thread for photos, and The Great Photography Superthread - which sounds a bit more like "(not your own) photos". We had this before, I don't get why this is so hard to understand. The thread titles are not really clear without ambiguity.
Banana fishd
I think it might be confusing just because the activity in this thread isnt what it use to be. I remember when this thread had a lot more contributions it was really clear what this thread was for. Members photos and helpful critiques. This thread old doh. It's original intention has not been said in awhile I think. Its not a big deal but I am glad Chupracabra noted that. The thread should stay on its original path. Iz better that way. Also Chupracabra those photos of them trees! Goot goot. Looks real crisp!

SMdoubleXL
I know this isn't a photo dump thread, but with all the ones I just picked out its gonna seem like it. I really try to take in ALL that is said here and in the advice thread. I read, watch videos about, and try to pay attention to what someone is trying to show me hands on. I get excited because it finally clicks, then when put on the spot..i take a picture, look at the screen and think WTF? not how it was supposed to turn out, like everything I just retained just slipped through the cracks. I swear some of you make it look so easy and effortless. I have respect for all of you, especially the ones who drop advice and such. for as long as i can remember, I have always thought, 'Its not the shoes- it's the runner' 'it's not the car-it's the driver' 'it's not the camera-it's the eye behind it' type shit. I refuse to believe that more equipment and camera will make a better picture. I know there is a difference in cameras, but its not like im still playing with a digital that only has preset settings. went out to play today a bit, came home loaded pics, and ended up going through many many pictures from years past. about 3 or 4 different cameras worth. sober/not sober, and definitely different moods. I guess always trying to master something (photo wise) besides a wall with paint. Im going to post oldest to newest. You guys usually give gentle crits,I appreciate that. (if you choose) I know these dont compare to what is usually posted, but I know for damn sure they are better than shit i posted years ago. self. my favorite type of experimental photos. not very shy, i love suggestive bedroom pics obvious flowers are obvious I cannot master the face, or even come close. I have A LOT of people photos that cut off at the shoulder. with the exception of this guy. he is a ham Ive tried animals .......moar...(sorry)

SMdoubleXL
ive tried people again. in situations where lighting is a challenge (my kid's graduation.) i think im just proud and all photos are good at that moment. haha only school with live music. wanted to note the song choice. ( blurring out name probably takes away from this pic, but imo was one of those pictures that i was pleasantly surprised how it came out. one try, no edit.) moving back to vegas from phoenix in November, I just took my time and tried to focus. (in my head I will NEVER make that trip again, so i wanted to take it in) rode bus today. ive learned that when you sit in the back, no one else wants to come within 3 or more rows from you. especially when you have your feet up end ramble.
Banana fishd
Awesome SM! I remember when you first started posting your pictures and it's really neat to see the progress you've made! I hope you continue to contribute to this thread!
SMdoubleXL
thank you . like anything i assume we all do, we think we're good, until great knocks at our door and introduces us to amazing..etc etc... im kinds glad most of mine got wiped out with the 12pocolypse. when i find camera advice thread where i was reaching out for help regarding headshots i wanted to take for my kids college applications, i will post those pics in there.. thank you again. i see people have a trademark style of taking pics.. yours is a soft, calm picture. i love mercers night shots. and a few other users I cant think off the top right now. love to see em all. Who was it that went down to panama or something and captured such great story telling people shots.
Banana fishd
I am not sure. The closest thing I can think of is Pffts brazil thread. Which IMO has been one of the best threads ever on 12oz. Not sure if that's what you are referring to tho. .
Banana fishd
Here is some recent photos I took for these guys printing press. I finally used the Canon AE-1 I have. The light meter works and it's wonderful. It's really convenient to have that light meter. The lighing in these last photos is just three butcher clamp lamps. The pentax I usually use (of course) the light meter is totally broken. I thought that would help me to actually get familiar with light and what settings to put everything at. I was writing everything down and was getting pretty familiar with everything. Then I got lazy and stopped. I am not sure if I'll keep using the canon. I like how everything turned out but I'd like to stay on the original path the pentax was taking me on. We shall see. When things are easier...iz really appealing. serum
I really don't come on 12oz anymore unfortunately but I'd like to continue seeing your guys pictures. please either post/message me your preferred mode of contact, FB, flickr, instagram, tumblr etc and I will do the same. When I do develop some pictures I'll come back here and post them for posterity sakes
SeamerOne
Is there even such a thing as a general brickslayers thread for Europe? Can't find a place to dump these. I've got some more. *Pretty sure every major city and region in Europe has its own thread in Brickslayers. I'm deleting all these photos, please look at what people are posting first and don't dump unrelated content here* -Mercer
