these are possibly the only two shots i've ever taken that i thorougly enjoy. i really hate everything else i produce. but that goes for everything i do really...i posted them before so sorry for being repetitive as fuck. bump.

as far as photography goes, i was sitting in my photo history class and my professor was just going on and on about such and such being influenced by whoever. i dont know why, but it really really bothers me for some odd reason. its just like people are revamping old styles and not trying to do anything thats actually deserving of merit for originality. i mean...i dont consider myself to be some groundbreaking person by ANY means...but alot of photography (and art in general i guess...) is just the same crap over and over again. talking about how so and so used to work in whoevers studio and basically carried on their work later. but why does the person merely carrying on the work receive what i'd call a good amount of credit when all theyre doing is copying and reproducing? if anyone would like to discuss this itd be pretty cool, as far as if you think art (photography in particular...) has merely become repetition and revamping or who some people are that are going into new and solid ground and doing something great. go nuts.

Cops track alongside an unpermitted break off march down Market Street.

Trouble begins. The crowd faces cops on both sides.

This happens in front of the hotel I was staying at.

Just after I took this photo the cops on horses started to beat the shit out of people.

I had to get inside the hotel or else I would have been dragged into it.

i'm currently in the process of putting all my pictures on www.seemesmile.com, since the resizing on fotango, and the label at the bottom really bother me. Anyone else use seemesmile? Does it work well?

Besides that, really nice pictures from everyone whose posted.

powerlines: holga 120 camera. tmax100. 1/125th @ f.8 (the sunny setting...). this is 2 seperate shots of powerlines on my first roll of film i shot with the holga a few months back actually. i guess i didnt wind the film enough because these 2 seperate shots ran together. i think it works better though rather than as individual shots. printed in a 4x5 negative carrier.

Same thing happened to me. Same camera same setting. I wound the film just a weeeeeeee bit to close and it turned out awesome...

Just as it looks in print, but 14x11:

This photo got me the college photography award for the 2003.

jbrshmonster.. first, thanks for the feedback.

The lens cost me $120. I saw it and had to have it. I should have shopped around. I've seen the same Phoenix lens for less than 60 in certain places.

:o

... I'm digging the bloody hand door A LOT!
