They aren't that good but they're supposed to be "easier" than polaroid proofs. In addition to these supposed backs people are just using digital cameras in general for proofs. Prof told me polaroid's only real market now is for proofing. I'm a complete Luddite when it comes to the film verse digital thing. Fuck that digi crap. I need something tangible and I need to know I actually put work into something I'm doing.
-Rage-
I'm both ways with Digital and Print. I'd love to do more print, but I don't have the $$ or access to any facilities. I like Polaroids now becuase I can find the cameras cheap and they all still work. It's humbling to sit and watch what will develop in my hand... the same as if I would be using developer and stop bath in a dark room. Digital is good for me because I hate fumbling with ALL of my 35mm cameras and equipment. There's to much going on at once. Eh, so in conclusion Polaroids are NOT dying and your professor is a shitbrick. I'd love to teach a class just on Polaroids.

Fr8Junkie
Film Vs. Digital i def like working with film more than digital. id rather sit in a darkroom all day than sit in front of a computer and mess with pics. the only good thing about digital is that you dont have to wait to see how your photos came out. film is just more gratifying. anyways i should have some new photos to contribute tomorrow. did a little experimenting with a pinhole and shot a few rolls in my holgas. yeaaaah baby
can anybody tell me how to do a double exposure on a canon AE-1 ?
jbrshmonster
take photo 1. press the button on the bottom of the camera you use to rewind the film and recock it and take photo 2. that should work. that lens is sweet..
yeaaaah baby
hah so simple, thanks jbrsh. yeah the lens is amazing.. good old gramps passed it down to me.

Fr8Junkie
i just did a little research on exakta and it seems like they are rare cameras that are well engineered and their lenses are made with zeiss glass which is some of the best glass in the world. how did you manage to get it for free??? Mr. Peanut
i really like your last post fr8. the black and white shots especially. they almost have a dream like quality to them. just a couple shots to bump this up. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/imaslacker02/crap/photos/yard3.jpg'> http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/imaslacker02/crap/photos/yard2.jpg'> i'm going to be picking up a canon eos rebel t2 35mm with the 28-90mm zoom lens. hopefully i should have some good prints from that within a week or so. i shot a couple rolls today with my friend's canon so i'll see how those turned out. if it's anything worthwhile i'll drop it in here. cheers. Poop Man Bob
I love b/w Holga shots. The woman who will be photographing my wedding uses a Holga, and both my woman and I thought it looked great. Here's her website, if you're interested in seeing her work. jbrshmonster
i like that rooftop one peanut.. pmb-good luck..i'm sure they'll come out hot.. the last wedding i was at the photographer had this sick hasselblad and like a car battery for her flash.. it was awesome. those holgas are sick too..so simple.. fr8junkie.. my friend just got it from his grandma but he doesn't know shit about photography so he asked my to take it and figure it out. it's pretty crazy. it's left handed pretty much. the whole set up is weird. i found a manual online last night and i'm checking it out now. and yes the lens is off the hook. zeiss is the ill shit.and it has a view finder that you look down into. i'm feeling it so far.. i can't wait to use it. i should also have a bunch of photos developed this week.. jbrshmonster
yeah that one. i meant to say roof. not roof top. here are some random little pieces. everytime i use a one hour spot the forget one or two photos.. that shit pisses me off. even if its fucked up or half a picture or whatever, if there's something on the negtive print that shit. so here are two of those i had to scan and fuck with. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/jbrshmonster/boatop.jpg'> http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/jbrshmonster/crap1.jpg'> that exakta camera has a serious light leak problem. i finally got the shutter release button to work but one of the actual shutter screens is fucked up. i will post 2 of the three photos that came out in a bit.
