also anyone enjoy jamaican jazz? ernest ranglin and the like? sooooooo dope. think smoother jazz but with reggae and ska influences. ranglin is a badass guitarist too. check him out...

just went to see Lee Perry for the 3rd time with my parents, fucking top notch, my friend met him on the plane up here and he wrote her a little message on a postcard and put her on the guestlist, nice work

 

as for recommendations...nobody could be disappointed by the 'Heart of The Congos' album by The Congos, almost brings a tear to my eye it's so good

 

The Revolutionaries are worth checking, they have a song on that Madlib reggae compilation, which is a nice nice mix of Trojan stuff, worth buying

 

my mate swears by Prince Far-I, i have one LP which is not bad, but there is still plenty by him i need to investigate, one to take note of

 

one that i reckon is worth checking that people probably wont have heard of is 'Echo Dek' by Primal Scream, a dub mix of their 'Vanishing Point' album by Adrian Sherwood, the UK dub producer guy, some dark and nasty claustrophobic tracks, and some nice mellow ones, one of them with Augusto Pablo

 

eh...i'll need to check my records to list more for if anybody is interested
