Fatal Error. Computer problem 2069.

Recommended Posts

When I start up 3D Studio Max, I get this message:

3D Studio Max Fatal Error:

Please check your device settings by usind the command -H line option.

If I knew how to do that, I wouldn't be asking for help.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks, Zest. I'm sure its more of a windows and/or a startup problem than a 3DS Max problem.

I just really need to know how to run the command -H line option (whatever that is).

Find out which executable it is that you're using to run the program... go to the command prompt, navigate to the folder where 3dsmax is.... type in the name of the executable with a -h on the end, ie. 3dsmax.exe -h.

That's what the error was telling you to do. I have no idea about 3d studio max so that's all the help I've got for ya.

well you've got me there.

An audio tech asked what processor speed my comp had,

and I really didn't have an answer. I sear I'm the least techy 'nerd' out there.

Thanks, Filthy Praxis! It worked like a charm. Good thing I remembered the old cd and a few other commands from when I was little.

Zest, me too. I just want something fast so I can get my porn when I want it. I mean, fast so there's no slowdown on graphics-heavy applications .
