Hmmm, thats a tough one. Drunks With Guns is the closest thing i can think of. Maybe Stick Men With Ray Guns too. I'll upload that in a minute. Flipper is on a similar wavelength, but the style is quite different. If you don't already know about Flipper, grab Generic for sure. I have a lot of noise rock/punk type stuff up there, but there really weren't too many bands that i know of that are too comparable to Fang.

Edit: Here is someone elses upload of Stick Men With Ray Guns. If it doesn't work, let me know and i'll upload it.

Edit x2: 4 new rips are now up on my blog. I've never been able to find any of these on the internet. pow.

More new rips/posts coming this week.

Ridiculous HR story. Long, but worth the read for gems such as:

"He then proceeds to dip his pita bread into his hot tea, rather then his hummus."

"When practice ends H.R. hands each member a hand written receipt that says he owes them each $1000 for coming to practice. One band member informs me that he has tons of these, “ranging from $100 - $4,000,000.”"

"He then removes from his suit pocket the small bottle of cologne that he carries, and sprays it in his mouth."

Cold+as+Life+-+Born+To+Land+Hard+lp+1999+by+monejo.jpg

It's funny how best of these "dark" bands (Cold as life, Blood for Blood, Neglect, etc) manage to touch similar subjects with slightly different outlook and approach. I think in this album CAL summarizes something really inherent in personal struggle, looming depression and fear. The soundscape in the album (especially tracks like ten to midnight, police) to me express this ridiculously dim and safeless feeling of urban horror. Reality where no one is safe and everything from family relationships to your own sanity is uncertain.

This tirade may be hard to understand if you didn't see the band live during this certain line-up. The songs really don't sound the same on shitty computer speakers

I know we have some vinyl junkies in here, and i know a couple people know japanese hardcore, so i have a question for those of you who fit into both categories:

I'm looking at picking up Bastard's Controled In The Frame 7" for very cheap. However, i don't think it's the first press or the tour press, which were both self released, and is labeled online as "Fanclub press". I intend to pick it up regardless since i don't have the money to drop like $75-100 on the first press or tour press, but does anyone know when this shit was pressed and by who? The name leads me to believe someone just decided they wanted more copies of it out there, but i'm curious to know if it was pressed shortly after the initial release in 89 or if this is a much more recent thing.

I don't expect anyone to have an answer for me, but figured maybe someone already has it and can provide some info. Either way, Bastard rules, and if i ever have large sums of money to spend on vinyl, Wind of Pain LP and Controled In The Frame 7" will probably be the first two i splurge on.

I know there's a bootleg that's been floatnig around for a while. I got mine new about 8 years ago, sometimes they call boots "fanclub presses", beware....

Thanks. I've decided it wasn't worth it to pick up some unknown press that is most likely not legit, as you said. Plus, i don't think other people have caught on to the fact that it's a "fanclub press" and not one of the original two presses, because the price has skyrocketed and still has 2 hours left. The fact that i couldn't find a single piece of info about this mysterious press on the internet leads me to believe it isn't something i want. If it was at all legitimate, there would definitely be info about it, seeing as Bastard's vinyl are some of the most sought after records by a huge amount of punk collectors

THE SCREAMERS, 122 HOURS OF FEAR

http://commercialzone.blogspot.com/

This blog has a lot of great shit on it. I spent a couple hours on it a few nights ago. Definitely check out the screamers though if you're unfamiliar. Keyboard and drums, no guitars, but heavy as fuck. And they were playing in the 70's? So awesome. Probably the only reason for ever wanting to live during such a damp asshole of a decade, and in Los Angeles no less.
