optimodub Posted March 11, 2003 Share Posted March 11, 2003 aye i'm liking the Weegee stuff there was a good article in Grand Royal magazine (the one with Lee Perry on the cover) by Ryze, a graf writer from Chicago, who went to see Weegee's widow, anyway, apparently he got his name from the way things like hats and guns would mysteriously move into more photogenic positions at the scene, ouija board style, but the besty bit in the article is this... 'Weegee was also quite friendly with all the big crime bosses of the day. So when the Mob started leaving bodies in black limos for the police to find, Weegee didn't think twice about telling his Mafioso friends that black cars don't photograph well at night and that something in white or grey would be much more preferable...'
