ETHREADZNY Posted December 2, 2002 Share Posted December 2, 2002 HARLEM, NEW YORK WHICH HAS A VAST AMOUNT OF POVERTY, but HAs been know for it's close nit community, is getting a facelift. Mom and pop stores, that were run by generations of families, are being replaced by large corperations. do you feel that it is benefical to open up these "malls in Harlem" to hire members of the community, or do you feel that by doing this you are closing the mom and pops store, and raising the property value, so residence can no longer afford to live there anymore/ what is your view on rebuilding ghettos for economic advancement. I feel that alot of these businesses are causing wealthier people to move into the area, which inturn causes the original residence to move out.
