SAN JOSE, Calif. (Reuters) - Rapper Eminem's music rakes in big bucks and now it looks like his former boyhood home is hot property too.

A bid on auction house eBay Inc.'s Web site by Tuesday had topped more than $13 million for the star's 60-year-old former home in a blue-collar Detroit suburb -- handily eclipsing its estimated appraised value of slightly less than $100,000.

A spokesman for eBay Inc. could not immediately be reached for comment but the California-based auction house posted a warning on the site from the house's current owner that willfully making a false bid potentially constitutes fraud.

Eminem fans so far have made 253 bids for the residence in Warren, Michigan, that comes with three bedrooms, two baths and includes all major appliances. The auction closes on Dec. 14 when one lucky bidder will be able to move into a home also offering convenient freeway access and some hardwood floors.

Another former Eminem home the rapper bought after becoming famous, in neighboring Sterling Heights, also went up on eBay recently and has attracted a top bid of about $800,000. The nearly 5,000-square-foot (465-square-meter) residence is a bit more upscale and features amenities like a Jacuzzi, pool and back-yard golf green.

Both houses are located beyond Eight Mile Road, the thoroughfare that marks the boundary between inner-city Detroit and its suburbs and which provided the title for Eminem's recent successful movie debut, "Eight Mile."

Eminem's albums have sold some 30 million copies worldwide and the movie, loosely based on the controversial rapper's life, is currently a top draw at the box office.
