Now he has his own label. Who is he? 2. Who are the two individuals featured on the cover of DJ SHADOW's "ENDTRODUCING" who are shopping for vinyl [aside from the guy in the inner fold and the cat]? 3. What label was the duo BLACK STAR on before they went to RAWKUS?

Guest JSUN
the first one is correct.. JAY-Z is indeed half filipino and half black. he took a sample from "HARD KNOCK LIFE" from ANNIE. he also runs ROC-A-FELLA. i'm gonna wait for more responses to the other questions. Guest JSUN
question 3 asks for the label they were on.. i hope you're not thinking talib was the record label. a hint: the record label is a label that was once HUGE.. i mean HUUUGGEE.

Guest JSUN
Congratulations.. i'll give y'all credit. Thank you all for playing. 2.- the two individuals are chief xcel and lyrics born [in the wig]. very very close. props. 3.- believe it or not... but black star's record label prior to RAWKUS was indeed DEATH ROW. interesting, huh? Guest JSUN
luckily.. black star was able to hop from death row to rawkus [which is a more suitable label for them] rather easily because both of the labels are part of priority records. at least that's my theory.. but it is a fact they were on death row. that's what rawkus doesn't want u to know.. and to all the people who love black star.. u can keep lovin them... i love em too. Guest WebsterUno
Originally posted by adept I honestly can;t believe anyone remotely interested in hip hop would ever say that-EVER. anyways, listen to Respiration by Blackstar I dont like them either. Mostly because when I was a youngster, I was listening to KRS-ONE religiously. He was the man!....to me. Everyone I knew, that 'loved' hip hop, didnt really undestand him and his contradicting self. But I did. I was the big Krs fan, and everyone wondered why. Then, Black Star came out, they straight jacked him with that 1, 2, 3 song...that was crap. And everyone was jocking black star. The original by KRS was better. Thus began my hatred for the crew known as blackstar. Plus, they became a part of an 'indie' record label, that all of a sudden BLEW UP!? *fart noise* They should have stayed on Death Row. Maybe...maybe I would have gave it a listen. blech...you can keep that trash.
