help with my mac

so today im listening to a cd..alls fine and then all the sudden it stops playing and i just hear it spinning..so i go to eject it and it spins but doesnt come out...i try the eject button again, and nothing. so i restart..nothing....i get a paper clip and press the emergency eject button, and nothing....does anyone have any idea how i could get this fuckin thing out without ruining my computer or calling a repair man..any help would be appreciated. oh yea its an imac.

shut down the computer.

unplug the cord.

hold down the bower button (this will 'zap the pram')

plug it in again and reboot.

 

The CD may have slid off the tray.

If you could get the case open, it could pop out.

Otherwise... repair man time.

zapping the PRam won't help, so don't bother...

 

if the cd has an icon on your desktop try highlighting it and pressing Cmd+Y (cmd is the one with the little apple on it)...

 

try restarting while holding down the letter C to try to force it to boot from the cd, this might result in a failure telling you there's no operating system and possibly kick out the cd... if this doesn't work start up and hold the eject key...

 

this is all guesswork on my part though
