serpent of the light Posted September 30, 2002 Share Posted September 30, 2002 actually you fucking fag, most of us "hardcore" kids started out in punk rock. i agree, gg allin did some crazy shit. but simple fact is that punk is simply pissed off teenagers (and people with that mentality) looking to push their blame on something bigger than themselves. sure there are exceptions to this, but those are FEW and far between. hardcore has been around half as long as punk and is 10x more powerful. death and black metal and all metal for that matter are a matter of ability to play your instrument. punks can't do this. sure sure, rancid's got a great bassist etc, but they can't compete on the real scale of things. and some of the things being said in metal beat the hell out of gg allin.
