I've said this a few times before, but I'll say it again.

Even Rome Fell

Nobody likes a bully

Absolute Power Corruputs Absolutely

Maybe the people who call it 'the great satan' have a bit of a point.

and the fact that Homeland defence is the number one concern in America today scares me.

(as opposed to say... the environment, economy, debt relief, health concerns etc...)

We should have gotten out of the U.N. long ago

We should tell them to take their building and their socialist bullshit attitudes and get out of our country. The people in the U.N. think it's their own little fiefdom. They are using (mostly) our money to line their pockets, and their attitude about U.S. law if "Fuck you, we're exempt." They drive like idiots, they park their limosines and their BMW's wherever they please without any regard for New York's laws, then they claim diplomatic immunity whenever they get a ticket or arrested for drunk driving or some other shit like that. Since our government can't seem to control them, I hope New Yorkers just settle it in the street. Arrogant sonofabitches.

Our Congress was so fed up with the U.N.'s cheap ass shit that we withheld paying our U.N. "dues" for years and years, and they whined and cried like a bunch of little girls. Sure they were upset--they can't live like kings and spend American dollars all over the world like drunken sailors unless we foot the bill.

I say that we withdraw from the U.N. and tell them to get off our property, and stay off. They are a pack of leeches anyway.

We don't need the U.N.'s help to take down Saddam. As a matter of fact, we don't need ANYBODY'S help to take down Saddam, and every minute that we wait means more American soldiers will lose their lives. We should have never stopped the first time. George Bush 41 was so glad that we suffered so few casualties in the first Gulf War that he was eager to find a way to get the hell out of there without losing any more men. We should have carpet-bombed Baghdad the FIRST TIME, and should have taken that country over and occupied it. George Bush 41 pussed out. I should have known what he was like when he caved in and signed the assault rifle ban back in 1989.

His son is plenty pissed off at Saddam for trying to assassinate his Dad, and I don't blame him. I say we go get his ass right now before he has a chance to get any stronger.

I know this is an unpopular position on this website. You guys got a right to your opinion, and I got a right to mine. Anything or anybody that makes the United States weaker is a bad thing. If the Gulf War was about oil, SO WHAT. You think you'd be enjoying the lifestyle you have without oil? Anybody that wants to live like they do in some Third World shithole is welcome to go there. Don't get trampled in the rush of illegal immigrants trying to get into the U.S., though. Everybody wants to live here. And why is that? Because it's the best place on earth. When all these Saudi royals and American-hating assholes all over the world get sick, where do they come for care? HERE, that's where. Ungrateful bastards. The whole world has their hand out. If that makes me a "Eurocentric" or a right-wing conservative, so be it. If you go overseas and spend some time in the sewer that they have created, you won't be able to get home fast enough.

But then I'd only be victimized by American Foreign Policy.

kabar, you have a point

but this country will hardly be so great if our foreign policy morphs (as bush wants it to) into a "we invade at our president's discretion" attitude

saddam sucks ass...and he is a threat

but what really worries me is the privileges that bush is asking for..and the fact that congress is just blindly following him

You have a good point. I think Bush is an idiot & it is scary to see a simpleton like Bush run our country, however I do think we should go into Iraq & take out Sadam wether it be by special forces or an invasion of greater proportions.

there isa theory not yet becoming of pure reality that is ummm

well its like this

in the book of genisis of the chronicle the bible, it states where the garden of eden originated(between the tigris and euphartes rivers just above suadi arabia) and it seems to be the middle east and specifically close to iraq and isreal, the gaza strip. Moses led his people in the old testament to the holy land they were the chosen people and they were descendants of NOah who survived god flood which he had to destroy his creation of man because man had beome evil. So its no surprise that the middle east has beena place of grave turmoil for milleniums now. There is a holy war that you people do not see there. It is man versus the spirits of serpents and pure night. It will never cease until the revelation becomes a living breathing act of gods wrath. And do you ever wonder why the middle east is such a big media center of the world??

The Attack on the Constitution

This crap that George W. and all his so-called conservative Cabinet is pulling, with the Patriot Act and other Homeland Security Act laws is only part of a LONG, LONG, LONG list of small erosions of liberty in the U.S. Almost always, these so-called protections or improvements to Federal law are really exactly the opposite of whatever the title of the law says. They started erroding liberty in the U.S. almost before the ink on the Constitution was dry. READ THE FEDERALIST PAPERS. These are books that are re-prints of articles published back then, trying to educate the public on the various issues before the Constitutional Convention in the 1780's, when the old Articles of Confederation were still in effect.

Many of you younger guys just have a "BOR-ing! Who gives a fuck?" attitude about it, but the reason your rights and liberties are so easily taken from you is that so few Americans want to read the fine print on these new laws.

Recently, this administration has enacted a host of new, restrictive and un-Constitutional laws and law enforcement practices. It began a long time ago, with things like "arresting" any large sums of money a suspect might be carrying. (What is that, if not "robbery?") The idea that the Government has a right to seize your money to be sure you've paid your taxes is, in itself, completely unjust. The income tax itself is specifically prohibited in the Constitution, but was rammed down our throats in 1913 by special interest groups of wealthy power brokers. The idea of the Federal Reserve System was part and parcel of this same conspiracy, and has been a very lucrative cash cow for the wealthy people who own the Federal Reserve Bank ever since. (Just in case you don't realize this, the Federal Reserve System is neither Federal, nor a bank, but it is a privately owned system for controlling the finances and ultimately the politics of the U.S. AS WELL AS other countries.)

Holding suspects WITHOUT TRIAL OR ARRAIGNMENT BEFORE A MAGISTRATE, not bringing the accused to a SPEEDY TRIAL BEFORE A JURY OF HIS PEERS, and denying the accused legal representation of his or her choice are all major violations of Constitutional law. Frankly, I don't understand why the Government thinks they need this sort of storm trooper, illegal measures. Any jury of decent, God-fearing Americans would convict their sorry asses in a New York second. So why do they need all the Kafkaesque drama?

BECAUSE THESE LAWS ARE NOT FOR TERRORISTS, THEY ARE FOR YOU AND ME. Nobody gives a shit about the terrorists. We could "disappear" the entire population of Guantanamo Bay's prison camps, and who would be the wiser? "We released them in Afghanistan. Don't have a clue as to where they went."

No, they don't need these laws for terrorists. They need them to use against DOMESTIC RESISTANCE.

You know what happens when you bring a Randy Weaver before a jury of his peers in Idaho? HE GETS ACQUITTED. You know what happens when you bring the Branch Davidian survivors before a jury of their peers in Texas? THEY GET ACQUITTED. Why are they in jail then? Because the Judge ILLEGALLY AND UN-CONSTITUTIONALLY OVERTURNED THE JURY VERDICT AND CONVICTED THEM ANYWAY. If you don't believe it, look it up on the Web and read it for yourself. The Feds were really embarrassed by the Randy Weaver trial. He got convicted on the gun charge (he illegally sawed off a shotgun for an ATF informant, and pled guilty) and got 18 months. Then, the U.S. Government had to pay him and his two surviving children THREE POINT ONE MILLION DOLLARS for murdering his son, Sammy Weaver, and his wife, Vicky Weaver, during the U.S. Government's seige of Weaver's rural property.

Believe what you want, but Bill Clinton came very close to setting off a civil war over Ruby Ridge and the Waco Massacre. Did you know that almost 30% of the Branch Davidians were black, Hispanic or other non-Caucasian races? Waco was a test case. What Clinton did, accidentally, was sell more assault rifles and ammunition than had ever previously been sold in American history. I know people who had no guns at all before Waco, who now own six or seven assault rifles, and who owned no ammunition before, but now have thousands and thousands of rounds.

The anti-terrorism laws are really anti-Constitution laws. You are losing your freedom this very second, and don't realize it. And if these laws are permitted to stand, our children and grandchildren will hold us responsible, just like we hold the Germans of 1933 responsible for Nazi Germany.

I do not believe we need any Draconian laws to stop terrorism. Regular law enforcement can do the job, if we take off the artificial restraints they are under right now. We definately do not need a National Police Force, but I fear one is coming.

Go read Title 10, United States Code, Section 311. And tell me WHY the U.S. Government needs a special, secret Homeland Security Agency. The security of the United States is ALREADY securely placed in the hands of the People themselves. We do not need a National Police.

you know, none of this rant has ANYTHING to do with the UN as an institution, merely the stupid actions of some members. Really KaBar...you can do better than this..........................

...........I want to know though - you think the US should pull out of the UN because

"Anything or anybody that makes the United States weaker is a bad thing. "

And then you have a rant implying the US is becoming progressively more Nazi

"And if these laws are permitted to stand, our children and grandchildren will hold us responsible, just like we hold the Germans of 1933 responsible for Nazi Germany. "

Now, I would have thought these were opposing view points, unless of course you are saying that only US citizens have a right to be protected from the US government...which would be a bit Nazi, really...........................
