Guest KING BLING
I thaught it was decent, but really just rent the Spanish Prisoner (another Mamet movie) "There are those out there who criticize director David Mamet's style because of its reliance on zombified performances and overlapping dialogue, but it is this that makes "The Spanish Prisoner" a fantastic and underrated movie. A short description of the film as The Game meets The Usual Suspects is appropriate, with the constant deception and paranoia of the former meeting the intricate plot and mystery of the latter. Guest imported_El Mamerro
I hought it was alright, but they tried to stuff every single possible plot twist in the last 30 minutes, and it all went to hell. The shooting scene was the icing on the shit cake. Beer, El Mamerro
Guest BROWNer
so true ilove"2"hate.. is it just me or is this place crawling with the most cynical aggro assholes lately? zesto..haven't read it. the worst possible line from that movie was: "i'm gonna be as quiet as an ant pissing on cotton." to which gene replied: "i don't even want you thinking about being as quiet as an ant pissing on cotton." you gotta laugh. hilarious in the most lame sense which is actually almost good. whatever that means. another one was something like(said by devito): "we all need money, that's why it's called money." ? i don't get it..am i just 1/4th retard ? and danny devito is the worst bad guy. but in the end at least this movie made me chuckle. plus gene is always dapper. Guest --zeSto--
Have you seen Drowning Mona ? It's one of the best Devito roles since Taxi. and about the book.. dont bother.
Guest BROWNer
is he a bad guy in it? i don't know..i realized from this movie that i'm not really big on devito.. even though he's been in so much shit i've seen over the years..i never gave any thought to him... but....he gets massive ass props for being apart of 'matilda'. Guest --zeSto--
he's actually playing the smart, reserved and respectable character. (which is about as rare as him playing the bad guy!) I highly recomend it. It turns out my new roomate is a movie junkie. She'll buy 10 previously viewed movies a week. The collection is getting HUGE! recent additions: The count of monte cristo The man who wasn't there Hiest Lock, Stock... Monsters Inc. A beautiful mind Sopranos third season Wan Wilder will be my next guilty pleasure!

Ferris Bueller
I think The Heist get's the Ted Koeppel gas face (this is your cue, BROWN). The Score is better because of De Niro. Can't go wrong.
Guest Dusty Lipschitz
i liked heist, but thought it was reminiscent of the score which is reminiscent of other movies... i cant say i was shocked when hacman or deniro got away with it. but how about hackman being 71? shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. i hope i am in as good of shape at 71. or 61. or 51. and that foolio had 3 movies out at that time. the royal tennenbaums being one, and i forget the other. king bling- you are so right. the spanish prisoner was very underrated. i like seeing comedy guys try the straight role, a-la robin williams last 3. i like to see if they can pull it off. martin did in that one, IMO. and i likeded minority report. hollaholla

Guest --zeSto--
here's a few my recent Thumbs-Ups* (*as in a good movie, not the phony blockbuster gleam) Wit Based on a Play about a very smart woman's deal with cancer. It's just so well acted and scripted. I almost cried at the end. Murder by Death A classic take-off of the murder mystery genere starring Peter Falk, Peter Sellers, Truman Capote and other comedy legends. It was written by Neil Simon... hence brilliant! and on my must-see list... Dogtown and Z-boys Red Dragon (please be good!) Guest --zeSto--
here's another pick... The Connection A bunch of jazz junkies play 'Waiting for Godot', except Godot is their heroin fix. It was shot in '61 so it still has that beat flavour without getting all preachy. and baraka if you haven't already seen it.
