kodak Posted September 10, 2002 Share Posted September 10, 2002 A pair of crooked Calcutta con men were arrested when their “miracle cure” for AIDS, cancer and tuberculosis turned out to be made of cow dung and urine! The heartless flimflam men allegedly charged 650 rupees -- about $13 -- for each bottle of the foul-smelling, bogus medicine. “They were selling these bottles for everything under the sun,” Calcutta’s deputy commissioner of police Sivaji Ghosh told reporters. “It was a bit surprising to see this happening in a big city.” Cops said the practice of selling bogus “medicines” is more common in small villages.
