there was alot of hate back then - just a different brand of hate. it was better hate. like back then if a nigga hated on you you had a good chance of running into him. now a days niggas hate on you over cyberspace from a million miles away because they know they will never be face to fcae with you. so yeah i see your point.

In the early 19th century the Brooklyn Union Railroad company had several elevated and street level lines throughout Brooklyn. By the turn of the century the BU had been absorbed by the newly formed BRT (Brooklyn Rapid Transit). Prior to the Franklin Ave Shuttle, an elevated subway line existed that ran over Fulton Street from Franklin Avenue, to the downtown area of Brooklyn. At Franklin Ave and Fulton Street the line veered south and connected with the M,D and Q lines (then called the Brighton Line). In 1926, during a labor strike, the BRT was forced to assign a yard motorman to operate an in service train. Unfamiliar with signals and speed restrictions the motorman took a 10 MPH curve at nearly 35 mph. His train jumped the tracks and smashed head on into a concrete divider killing 97 subway riders. The Monroe Ave accident hurled the Brooklyn Rapid Transit company into bankruptcy. After this accident, the borough of Brooklyn renamed Monroe Ave Empire Blvd, and the city tore down that part of the elevated track that extended down Fulton Street. The Franklin Ave Shuttle was made out of the remaining portion of that line that ran south from Franklin Ave and Fulton Street. After almost 3 decades of service, the BRT was replaced by the BMT (Brooklyn Manhattan Transit).
