Magazines are cool but they're also the reason why theres hardly a style difference from different places. As far as buying some wood to paint on, I would have to say thats pretty wack. Maybe you'll learn how to paint a little bit better but your not going to have any experiance. Go paint. Find some cool piece spots and paint. You can't be a sheltered child your whole life, painting in the safety of your backyard. That's not gonna teach you shit. Maybe because I'm from NYC and out here you have to know how to survive. Shit isn't sweet like it is in alot of other places. You have to learn to paint under pressure. That's what makes graffiti ill. You have "normal" artists who sit in their studio painting real nice shit. Then you have writers who are painting shit in the street, yard, or where ever. This is what seperates us.
