SIEGE 1 NJ
Hm, I was actually gonna make a post about this. Here's my list Black Flag "Spray Paint The Walls" Circle Jerks "Back Against The Wall" Subhumans "Subvert City" Those SPAZZ songs you guys mentioned rule... too bad Max625 doesn't paint anymore. Also Aesop Rock "Coma" Aesop Rock "Labor" and an Aesop spoken word before Maintanence on the Daylight ep. There's tons more. For instance this hip hop comp just came out called the Urban Renewal Program, it's got tons of songs about graff on it. It's one of the themes. Lots of those DefJux bands write about it. Some good lines from all the above; "I disrespect burners like Cap"- EL-P "Taki 183 innovation for the kids, brick foot iron lung honor, escape the night like a teen krylon bomber, with no care outside of posting the roster"- Aesop Rock "You run around with spray paint, graffiti on everybody's walls. You think you're so damn tough man, it ain't nothign at all!"- Circle Jerks. In decline of western civilization , they play it live and he does the hand motion of spraypainting, it's lovely. Tthere's a punk band with ex-members of the Pist, called East Coast Panic and they had a song called Krylon. Hmm, I think Bill Pist was in a band with Revs called Godsquad. Fuck, I could go on and on. If I had my way, there would be tons more of association between graffiti and punk. I gottta start another band, and have the shake and spray sound as a sound sasmple.
