if you think gen2 sucks then you must be not seeing all the really horrible graf everywhere. I saw a really nice truck with him and oze108 the other day. funny, because when I met gen2 I first thought of oze.. anyhoo. I enjoy the UFO's. the pink one off the JMZ is fly.

this kid isn't very good and needs to change his name as there is already a ufo in icp that writes and dj's originally from sf and currently residing in new york that could be considered an old-school king. he was bombing little ufo characters before this guy was born.

I was hoping this would be UFO crew shit from Europe, needless to say I'm a bit disappointed. This website confuses me. I guess we have another misunderstood and terribly untalented Basquiat type on our hands here, get him an agent, he'll make millions (spilling rhetoric rich enough to win over the empty minded masses). "It's so intuitive," they'll say, "so raw with emotions, so unappolagetic." "I absolutely love it daaaaaaaling." "His work is terribly out of place, but that's the point." "He writes UFO, to discribe his strong feelings of alienation from the pretentious mainstream artworld, he is a rogue, out to change our perceptions of graffiti, and art in general."

...But that doesn't mean that he won't become famous....with all this attention from 12 oz, who knows.

Yes. Basquiat sucked and finally someone else is calling him out for it. That took way longer than it should have.

the biggest toy in the world can also post on 12oz. go fuck a kangaroo and leave new york to new yorkers.

and no i dont think basquiat sucked, but i dont consider him a writer either, and as far as i know, he never considered himself to be one....although your comment ulcer kinda made me chuckle cause i know sorta what your digging at, but i dont think it holds true for UFO, hes kinda just breathing and doing his thing....i dont think its groundbreaking and i dont know how much artistic merit it deserves ( then a again who can really say what art is and if he himslef even thinks what he is doing as art or vandalism or pure nonsense just to fuck with writers and people)....but the kid is up in one of the biggest cities and is just kind of local yokel that we around nyc all dig....his shit sticks out amongst all the other crap and well, im sorry you guys cant just appreciate things for what they are rather then what you think they should be....concrete perceptions.......whatever

not everyone who does graffiti, has the main objective of earning respect from other graffiti writers. ask an average joe from new york what graffiti he notices and he'll tell you its those fucking ufo's. i don't know why ufo bombs, but if he's trying to catch the publics eye, he's winning.

and to the people commenting on the name of the thread. ufo? universe? get it?

truer words have never been spoken! (nor typed). I've been getting a kick lately out of talking to strangers about graffiti, and that is exactly what they notice. the weird, goofball shit that graffiti writers hate because it isn't ballsy enough, or it isn't a fill-in with 2-7 letters. the stuff that stays with people are the UFO's and the flowers on the ground, or the bad-ass pigs, the monster project. doesn't that seem to be the new trend? instead of writing a word or your name, you derive an icon. something that is simple and easy to replicate over and over, like a tag, yet is still an image that will stick in your mind. when I see tags, I say "yay, tags" and forget what they looked like by the next day. but pictures, images, caricatures, those things are easily remembered.

maybe this is where graff is headed, away from letters and towards icons or logos. who knows, but as it stands I think it's graffiti just the same. I'm interested in starting a list of these icons. please list any that I haven't mentioned.

yeah, just ask corporate america...icons are where its at for a culture with a fading long term memory. hey, remember last year when bush stole the election? no, but i could tell you what the texaco logo looks like...
