Fascism

Recommended Posts

If I'm correct France recently elected a fascist dictator into power ... world war 3 ?

everyone knows fascists love war...

I saw the news in class today and this guy has allready publicly announced his distaste for jews and immigrants slating them as the cause of high crime rates ... could spell some trouble here

dont worry..

It's only the French.

And their real problem is with the Arabs (Algeria)

so them and the Grand O'l USA should get along just fine!

^ very true!

But it's a necesary evil in our political landscape today.

And even if the extreme-right beats the rightand gets in power,

it's not like they're calling off all future elections.

Ou est votre Code Napoleonic maitenant?

yeah sounds worrying about Le Pen. But he has not got into power he is just leading in the first round of voting. Italy, Austria, Portugal, Denmark and Holland all have far right politicians with alot of influence.

low turnout is the key. Le Pen has a hard core following who vote in large numbers...like any far right nuts. When you toss in a disaffected majority of voters who see no choices they like, and decide to not bother voting, this is what you get. Hopefully this will remind people of the need to vote, and moblize large numbers at the poll to make sure le pen wont get any further (not that its likely anyways)

yeah you hit it on the head. chirac will get it for sure. they had a small riot/ protest afterwards which i found pretty funny. people would much rather gather in a large number and throw shit then wait in line and make a decision. look at america as an example of people not voting.

le pen wont be elected

but its sad he made it to the second round

what is also sad is that because of the increasing in FN votes, Jospin decided to quit, which means that the battle is between right wing and extreme right wing, and no left wing--> no socialist candidate available.

the reason that le pen made it is not because france has more fascists, its because people lost their interest for politic: wether they dont vote or they do a protest vote for contestation or joke (ex: communistor any party that is not the main ones) which leads to a situation where all the left wing votes are dispatched between many partys, and all the right wing fascist remain steady and make it to the second round.

sad day for democracy

honestly, i dont think france is even close to be a fascist country.

but still, le pen shouldnt be allowed to be elected.
