Political Correctness

Recommended Posts

I read a post once in a while on here that objects to racism, "homophobia", misogyny (this means "hatred of women,") and other opinions that upset people who believe that their opinions are the only correct ones.

I think these ideas are usually indicative of where the opinion holder stands, or thinks he or she stands. For instance, PC people will accuse someone else of racism or sexism at the drop of a hat, but get upset and indignant if you call them a Communist or a liberal socialist-fascist. It's a sort of one-way deal. I've sort of gone very far astray of where I was way back in the day, because I guess coming face-to-face with genuine racists sort of puts the mealy-mouthed, weenie racists in a sort of lesser, unimportant sub-category. Some guy who would prefer that his daughter not date black boys is not in the same category as people who blow up Sunday school classrooms, or execute voter registration workers and bulldoze their dead bodies into the middle of a dam.

"Homophobia", or at least genuine homophobia, is usually an indication that the individual who fears and loathes homosexuals is afraid that he himself is a homosexual. And then you have the jockers in prison who brag "I fucked this guy, what a fag, he's my bitch" when in actual fact the rape victim had no desire for sex with men. Only the jocker is a homosexual. Most people who really express hate for homosexuals have a secret desire to be involved in homosexual sex, but most of them aren't as extreme about arranging it as those idiots up in Montana who murdered a gay guy just so they could get their share of being raped in the ass. Damn. They could have just gone to any gay bar and got all they wanted, and saved themselves all that hassle. Maybe it was because there weren't enough available gay, black partners in their town, and they wanted to go up to the penitentiary where there was a wider selection. I don't know, it makes sense to me.

Men who truly hate women seem to be pretty common. I never understood it. A guy who slaps a woman around must have a secret desire to be killed in his sleep, that's all I can figure. I have always been attracted to women who knew their way around firearms, and in one instance, explosives, so disrespecting my old lady has never been part of my routine. I always went for the sort of girl who would wake you up by snatching the blanket off you and saying, "Get your lazy ass up and go stoke the stove. And when are you going to finish re-building that transmission for the scooter? I'm sick of it sitting on the coffee table!" One year she got a barter side-job doing the books at the Harley shop in Walla Walla so she could get me a set of straight pipes for the shovelhead. Shit, I'd die for that girl. I can't see how I'm acting sexist. Sexist is when I tell her to get her lazy ass up and stoke the stove. Believe it, that will never happen.

One time, a guy forced her off the road in traffic, and got stuck in a traffic jam. What he didn't know was that she was headed to a bar where I was, right near the light where he was stuck in traffic. She was so mad she was crying, the baby was screaming, I said "Jesus! What's wrong?" She pointed at the guy's truck and said, "That bastard nearly killed us!" I knew right then and there what she wanted, and I delivered a first-class ass kicking to that rude motherfucker. Later, after she calmed down, she looked at me and said, "I need to remember to be careful what I ask for." She wanted his ass kicked, and she got what she wanted.

Guys often think of themselves as the stronger sex. They think they are the tough guys. When my daughter was born, after 31 hours of labor, and I was standing there with tears running down my face and a wet, bloody baby in a receiving blanket in my arms, I knew that was bullshit. Nobody will ever convince me that women are the weaker sex. In the long run, women are tough as nails. And they are extremely revengeful. A woman will kill you in a heartbeat if she thinks she has been disrepected or betrayed. On the other hand, they will risk everything for love. It is my sincere hope that I will always be able to live up to my wife's expectations. She expects me, without fail, to protect and provide. And if I need help, I can expect her to ride to the sound of the guns. Where's the sexism in that? She is loyal, and she is true. Those are rare qualities in this fucked-up, shitty world. It reminds me of that scene in "Tombstone" where this guy says to Doc Holiday, "Doc, what the hell are you doing here? You're sick--you ought to be in bed." And Holiday says, "Wyatt Earp is my friend." The other guy says, "Hell, I got lots of friends." And Holiday looks at him and says, "I don't." Boy. Ain't that the purest truth? My advice is treat your woman the same way you treat your bros. You would never fuck over a bro. Don't ever betray your woman.

Race is a matter of geography and natural selection. We,ve had 20,000 years to develop racial genotypes and 300 years to obsess about who is fucking who over. Nobody is "pure" anything. Well over 80% of the "blacks" in North America are at least part white. Without much doubt, humanity evolved in Africa, so you could say that white folks and black folks almost certainly are related, at least, related distantly. I was amused and a little shocked the first time I met a black guy with my same last name. Since it is a German name, it was a safe bet he came by it honestly. We both laughed and I shook his hand and said, "What's up, CUZ?"

I had a good friend, my welding instructor in Community College in San Francisco, who decided he was sick of the racism in the U.S. Back in the early '60s, he hired on as a headmaster of an industrial trades school in Kenya, and went "back to the old country." On his first day as headmaster of this school, a student was brought to him for discipline. My friend Mac has pretty dark skin, by African-American standards, but compared to the African Kenyan students, his skin was light. The kid begged him, "Please Bwana Mac, don't cane me." Bwana, in Kenyan, is slang for "white person." Within ten years, Mac was more than ready to come home. He told me "I had a great big American flag up on the wall of my living room. Every day, I looked at it and thought how much I missed my country." Skin color doesn't matter much. But what's in one's heart matters a hell of a lot. Attitude is a lot more important than race. Mac was pretty demanding with black students. He would not accept many excuses. His opinion was that racism was a barrier, but certainly not one that could not be overcome, and definately not acceptable as an excuse for failure. He told me many a time, "You better get in that booth and burn some rod, boy. I ain't teachin' no slackers." He turned out Coast Guard certified welders like an assembly line. He hated excuses for failure. I feel the same way. Life is hard. So what. Get over it and let's get on with it.

i think political corectness is overrated and for the most part unimportant. it's just a tedious obstacle that 90% of people DON'T want to deal with anyway. as long as you don't say stupid things like "nigger" and "faggot" then everything is alright.

on the other hand, almost no WOMAN on earth (over 18 of course) is above getting punched in the face if she starts shit first. i'm not saying people should bet their wives or girlfriends. we all know that is terrible. but if some girl tries to seriously put me in danger you better bet i'll punch her in the face. but if it's some girl i know and they say something that pisses me off, of course i'm not going to do anything.

i think that any girl that tries to get her boyfriend to kick peoples' asses just because SHE wants it done is pretty dumb. i cannot stand people like that. ka-bar's story may have been different and of course there are some circumstances involved, but oh well.

lastly, the part about homophobia is true.
