my parents were cool with graff before i got caught...they would say shit like "whos Snipe one, i saw his tag here" or 'so whats your tag look like", they knew i had spray paint and were cool with it....but when i got caught shit changed....they took my spray cans, my markers (i have a second collection stashed in my sisters beanie baby drawer) , they search my backpack occasionaly, they check my bed some nights to make sure im still home, my dad yells at me when he sees me checking out bombs on rooftops....basically i cant do graff right now...i havent gone bombing in a month and it sucks...the only shit ive done is hop a few buses and catch etch tags on bus shelters after school

you kids that have parents who dont care about graff or support it have no excuse for not being up..if my parents supported graff i would be up 10X more than i am now

my parents did pretty much the exact same shit to me.

no offense eessee, but i think that this is a sign of everything that is wrong with graffiti. its been pushed so far out of the underground and into pop culture that kids are going bombing with there mommies... who are packing their lunches and dropping them off at a legal to paint with their friends.

dont be offended by this, but i think yu need to grow up.

then two weeks later i was driving with my mom and my dad...and they saw another one of my pieces, and somebody was buffing it. my parents started talking about it: "there's some vandalism"..."yep, painting over some graffiti." then he started pronouncing it in all these weird ways...graff- IT - ey....GRAFF-i-tye. then i told him to shut up.

then one day my mom asked me why i have so many big markers...and why i had a milk crate full of spray cans with the lids off. then she asked me if i was huffing...and said that was one way to really mess myself up. and i said no... I felt like showing her my respirator and reassuring her that i'm very cautious with harmful vapors.

they probably won't know unless i get caught, which is bound to happen someday, hopefully after i move out.

hmm sounds like ur close with ur family... i think most ppl like to spend time with there familys on christmas morning

This thread is a real eye opener. I know a lot of my opinions aren't popular, and I try to stay out of straight graff threads because when all is said and done, I'm not all that knowledgeable about graff. I'm a graff patron , not a graff writer.

It's my belief that fathers have a role to play in their kids' lives. I think a lot of you guys come from homes where your father has either not been present, or where he hasn't been very effective. I wasn't a perfect kid, and I'm sure not a perfect father. But, to quote from the movie "Tombstone"--"There's gotta be some law, Wyatt!" And I agree. The buck has to stop with somebody. In my family, it stops with me.

We all know that there are some things in life that are prohibited, that we choose to do anyway. For me, it's trainhopping. I've never been popped, but I'm not bragging. I know that it's just a matter of time.

If I had a kid under 18 who was into graff, I'd set some rules about it. I would help support any legal graff activity, including financing purchased paint, caps, magazines, etc. But I would specifically prohibit any violation of the law, and be clear that "if you get busted, you are paying the consequences." I would pay for attending expos or shows that featured graff. I would help seek legal sites. I would encourage development of style and technique.

I think everybody needs a curfew. I don't stay out to all hours of the night, and I won't permit my kid to do so. We agree on a time, I expect her to abide by our agreement. She's usually ten minutes early. God only knows what kind of horrifying mischief she gets into before that, but she's not late for curfew. I told her when she was little, "I'll bail you out ONE TIME without any questions whatsoever. Don't waste it on some bullshit misbehavior." So far, so good. She got busted once, for MIP (minor-in-possession of alcohol: to wit, one beer.) The judge was easy-going about it. He sent her to Alcohol Awareness Class, and put her on suspended adjudication for six months.

I was ten times as big a rule breaker as my kid, and not even one-tenth as good a student. It was a miracle I never got busted for any of the stupid shit I did.

She got busted because she was young and naive. When I was a kid, we would have never been drinking on the street. We had the good sense to hide.

Fathers are supposed to be protectors and providers. I can't run my kid's life for her. But she knows where I stand. I have told her many times, "Obey the Law." But she also knows that I'll come bail her out. At least, I 'll bail her out, once.

hahah u have a kid and u come on this site? go spend some time with ur kid u fucking dumb 40yr old

I know a few writers with kids that I'm 100% positive could burn your ass...Havin' kids really puts a damper on bombing, gettin' busted and all that could really screw some shit up. Having kids makes alot of writers quit, though. Too much responsibility.

My parents are okay with peicing as long as in the day. I usually just say i'm going painting and tell them where i am and if it's legal or not and usually there fine with that. If I wanna go and paint late at night they wouldn't let me though, but mostly because they are worried about me getting bashed or caught. They both say they hate tags and they don't know I bomb. Mum always says she wishes I was interested in something else but she buys paint for me if it's for a school art project. My dad always point's out walls and says "oooh thats a nice wall to do some graffiti on" I think he's sort of joking but he doesn't care too much. I just don't want them to know I bomb.

If you dont change your name I will personally come to Fort Waste and kill you. That is the truth, I dont appreciate you writing my deceased freinds name. Doesnt matter if he he is dead. Your style looks nothing like his because you are a toy and you will never be as good as him. I hope everyday of your life is miserable and Bill's ghost is haunting you and making your life miserable. Stop writing graffiti or I will kill you. Do not ever post on this site ever again or I will kill you. I love my freind and he will live in my heart until the day I join him. I hope you die.

sope, soap same thing. change your name or stop writing completely. Koc is also a respected crew. Just do yourself a favor you little shit and change hobbies. Graffiti isnt for you. There are rules and respect in this game and you obviously know nothing about that. Find something new to make yourself feel cool and make yourself think you are showing off to your freinds. Start inline skating or something.

My mom worries about me getting caught and wants me to quit, sometimes she threatens to call the cops on me, but she never would.

My dad is cool with it, he is just telling me to be careful out there. He also tells me to beware of the gases, like for instance painting indoors or in tunnels and such you ought to wear a gas mask.

As a parent and a writer I think there is a double standard when it comes to kids. I take my son and daughter with me when I'm hitting free zones. Hell my son sticker bombs the fuck out of shit. But as his gaurdian I don't want him doing any thing that is gonna get him or me in trouble. Remember parents did (and probably still do) all kinds of ill shit. However it's the old do as I say not as I do thing. So in short here's a $1.25 and go fuck yourself. :D

I'm probably gonna catch hell for this but fuck you.
