The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. mental invalid Posted March 29, 2002 Share Posted March 29, 2002 "The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon" ...i didnt know what kinda moon it was...but it was great tonite...took a nice hike down to watefall where it looked like silk strings running over rocks....gushing wind behind its roar, misty....roaring forver....lit up by the full moon....tree banches....sat a lake and just peered....went to the top of the hill...sat down had a smoke and skecthed with just the light from the "full crow" ......id like to be able to one day capture color in moonlight....shadows at night.....shadows of tree limbs arch over the road....quiet modest mouse was pretty cool too....
