FROSTY
I really feel that sonik stuff. Its abstract but it look sooo........... whell sooo good! I think its an aquired taste for this kinda stuff compared to most of the graffiti around. It reminds me of when i am too tired and too lazy to go all out so i just do some simple letters but they end up not looking so bad, and after a week of lookin at it i start to like it
Guest HOST18 DYM
I want to point out the obvious. There seems to be a growing trend these days of doing really ugly shit and passing it off as different or abstract. I'm not dissing anyone. I'm simply reminding people that just because shit is different doesnt mean its good. Take a look at Rime for example: very different styles, very fresh styles. I think this could be a good thread. I doubt it will be though.

Guest Pilau Hands
But I think that's the point...Rime's stuff is weird to the normal barstyle wildstyle piecer. When I think weird now, I automatically think Europe. There's something in the water over there, and whether you love it or hate it, you have to admit that risking your ass to paint colored triangles on a passenger train is weird...and inspirational. let the freakfest continue. Sonik3000
Pure intentions.... Jesse, I like that.... nice way of putting it. Some writers are contact hitters, going for singles and average, you know like oh let's say Tony Gwynn. Some writers swing from their heels and hit more out of the park..... either way you do it right you make the Hall of Fame. Maybe you all understand what I'm trying to say here......? Jerk182
weird as a trend, renders it no longer weird. BUT i do sometimes see things being done that i have NEVER or at least RARELY seen before. and your right a lot of this is coming from europe. a land with a whole different pretense to what letters (graffiti) should be. STAY AHEAD OF THE GAME! keep it different. to name a few "weirdos" how about kept, (even through his many different styles they have always seemed UN-bitten, later catching on forcing him to move on), what about ghost! that shit is still past the realm of normal graff and its not even played because you CANT bite that shit. its almost impossible to copy, its a mindset of being loose and improvisational definately a product of his fuckin brain (did he do that pizza whole car!!!!), or how about veks this guy does different shit almost everytime (at least the flicks ive seen), what about free5 always coming loopy always his own shit, or reas ive seen a lot of people base their style on 1 (ONE) piece reas did. remember when reas was doing that throwback 70's shit in the early 90's with the fucked up 3-d's loops from no where and dots all stock tip looking and shit? now look at us.......... look at a lot of shit coming out of prague. romeo cakes etc. etc. god damn. or those guys in london do do and (cant remember but its that crew who does the underground with blobs and rectangles and stuff.) remember when twist was a bizarre exception to the graffiti rules? people said things like "aw i dont really like all that charachter bombing, graffiti is about letters...... but twist is cool. hes doin hi own shit" remember the first joker thing you ever saw? "what the............." i could go on and on. keep graff exciting, TRY HARDER! -jerk182 (ill try and dig up some flicks of what im talking about)
