i think something that seems very insignificant at the moment may well spell the end in the future. such as Carla Thaler.

whatever your guess, its gonna be off base. Anything thats really NEW and not just an extension of somthing that exists, always comes outta left field and smacks you in the back of the head. Do you think anyone could have possibly predicted plastic? Whatever you envision is always an extension on what we have (hover ____, pocket sized _____ ) so guessing is kinda pointless, cause the big thing will come outta nowhere...

^ you know whats left...?

Quantum Physics

It's all in theory right now, but here's a little taste.

Every particle has 32 quantum parts which currently exist in 32 different dimensions.

So there's really only 1 quantum part at any given time.

Now instead of the classic 1 or 0 binary code,

imagine that every particle as 32 set positions.

We'd effectively increase our storage and processing speeds 16 fold.

and... that for every atom that we use as a counter!

so an apple would have aprox 1 billion atoms, each with 32 bits, the potential is incredible.

The storage is so vast, that we could theoretically digitize a human being

and transfer that info in a beam of light.

WOWZA !!!

My prediction is warp machines. We'll all have one in our houses and in every building, everywhere. They'll be no need for vehicles of any kind. We'll just stand on our warp machine, punch in the coordinates and boom......we'll be there lickety split

ese is right thow, we'll never see it coming.....

warp machines....

EXACTLY ! and how will they work? Quantum Physics

but how scarry is that...

That every asshole will be able to go any where instantly.

Nature Preserves will get ruined,

there'll be 1 billion people at the same place at the same time.

Fat tourists just warping to the top of Mt.Everest for a picture.

the next big things are these chips inserted to our hands..today its for vital information..tomorrow its to track kidnappers..then its to eliminate money...then we have no power...mark of the beast...mark of the beast..and im not even religious..insanity.

Dammit, Zesto beat me to it. But yes, quantum mechanics and nanotechnology could very well bring about the most illogical and absurd world you've never imagined, and this excites me greatly. Beer,

I would take it even farther than that. I think one day the entire human race will shed their bodies, and live through machines, and possibly even live as some kind of beings of pure energy....and the pure energy part sounds pretty cool

and Mamerro, I thank you for bringing up Nanotechnology, I had completely forgotten about that. Maybe one day we will be able to enter a few numbers into a keyboard, and have a savory steak dinner for 2 freshly cooked and ready to eat, a la Rendezvous with Rama. That would be something indeed.

.

we are of energy,if you want it.....die,but i see what you are saying..

on the scifi ch. they have "Earth f inal Conflict",they have an alien race which is of pure energy and get skin by sampling human DNA within seconds.

right now, people are looking towards the stars.(as the always have) if they prove"HARDCORE" that there are planets like this one...the human race will make it a point to reach them.....but thats way into the future.or maybe not.....

the new trend will be barcodes across your foreheads

nanotech is scary. but....i'm pretty skeptical as to all the

shit they are spewing as to how its going to transform our

planet....its yet to be seen.

i wouldn't sleep on virtual reality yet either......with the advent

of insane processing speeds.....who knows....

whatever the case, like ese said, its all just speculation.

All I know for sure is that when they make 'virtual reality'

so real that I can plug in to a Jessica Alba fantasy,

it's going to make crack cocaine look as addicitve as coffee.
