I know what thats about and I decided I was tired of it because as I said..its just the same people seeing the same shit. If I am in another city I will bomb it but I am tired of bombing around my way. now onto why staying off the numbers is important. Its not mostly about keeping your freights from being stamped, its about not heating the spot. When ever a train pulls into a yard its number are scanned and logged as previously said. These numbers can not be scanned if there is paint over them. To look at where they were getting painted takes a quick look into that string of cars log file and see where they were last scanned. so you know somewhere between point A and point B where the numbers were gone over..thats maybe 2 minutes worth of investigating in the yard office. Another minute for a phone call to the last place that this train was paintedtelling them to look out for graff writers fucking up ther trains. The yard where this was discovered may also beef up security a bit to save the money of having to replace the numbers once again. I know there will still be you people talking about blah blah blah freight writers are pussies and shit. what ever I'm a pussy. I like to put something nice up to be seen all over the continent. If its not your thing thats fine with me. Just don't fuck up my scene is all I ask. I'm not out trying to stop kids from bombing and saying that its stupid and all this other stupid shit. I just wish some of you could open your eyes and figure out life is much easier if you go with the stream than against it..and for those of you that don't understand that, make things easier and just don't try and go against everyone, you won't get as far as you would if you worked with them. Love, Zack Morris the pussy freight nerd I AGREE WITH U WHEN PIECING IN A TRAIN YARD U ARE WAY MORE LIKELY TO GET CAUGHT AND THERES NOT MANY PLACES TO RUN AND U CAN GET RUN OVER BY TRAINS.. EVEN THOUGH I DONT PAINT TRAINS ANYMORE CUZ I GOT CAUGHT I JUST STICK TO STREET BOMBING..

skirmfirm
300 a year, i think thats a bit excessive, i mean, if you get enough in the right places, and get them tight as you can, people will start to nitice. I knada know what you mean tho, i have about 100 running from last year ( i went over all my older stuff as i hated it) and although almost every freight running in my area has at least a tag of mine, i can travel 50 miles or so and people will have seen maybe one or two of my panels, and about 100-200 miles no one knows a thing about me. Yet if i had done 25 in my area, travelled up country done 25, travvelld west and done 25 and so on.. i may have had a different effect.

2501
I'm going to reply to the original poster because I've been thinking about this recently while looking through the freight forum here and found myself thinking "I kind of dislike freights". I've read the arguments here, I don't really care or want to change anyone's mind. This is simply how I see freights. I got into graffiti first, looking at it and drawing, when I was around 8... started painting when I was about 14, mostly on train tracks in my city. I was very naive. We started painting on the freight trains that we'd find parked on the train tracks. Didn't take long to notice that they moved, and sometimes came back, and had some other shit on them from god knows where. A couple years later, I'm a bit more savy to the graffiti world (talking early 90's though so there was no internet graff, and only a few magazines) and I'd seen freights in my area with dope pieces on them from major cities all over the country - mostly New York and LA, at least that's what I remembered cause that was the best stuff. Chicago had a lot too but it usualy sucked (sorry Chicago). I moved to the midwest for a few years, and there were so many freights there that we just went nuts painting them, that's when I got hyped on the idea of trying to get a lot of shit out there to go "all country". It was fun. I still saw a lot of shitty graffiti on freights, but saw a lot of good graffiti on them too - that's what I'd take pictures of. Nowadays I'm lazy and old and don't even write that much at all. I've done a couple freights this year and I'll do some more because I enjoy going into the yards. I mostly do throwups in my city though, and some pieces from time to time. I only paint to entertain myself anymore. In this respect I've changed. But in another respect, I think the "scene" of freights has changed also (finaly this windbag is getting to the point, right?) When I look at the freight graffiti posted here, 90% of it is a dull and uninspiring blur. I know if I'd seen a lot of this stuff in person, I wouldn't have wasted the film on it (or nowadays the time and space on my memory card). A lot of it is generic, style-less or just corny, or looks like shit because it's done carelessly - and by carelessly I don't mean the painter is a toy in that they can't control a can, I mean they use their paint and caps in such a way that shit just has zero personality to it, they adpot the same tired mediocre techniques they see other people doing on here and it looks about as compelling as a strip mall on the highway. Yeah there is a good amount of quality graffiti being done on freights still, but there just seems to be a whole hell of a lot of more blahzay stuff on trains these days too. I think it's the scene, maybe it's just my perception... it's certainly "just my opinion." Anyway... before ending my ramble here I'd like to remember the dope freight train writers whose work I saw in person and who inspired me and made me excited to see their shit and to take part in the "scene" - Sento, Porn, Muze and Free5, Cycle, Smith, Bus, Haze, Sien5, Cavs, Hims (not generaly up a lot on freights but the ones I saw were dope, has to do with Nise's thing about real writers hitting freights I guess) and later Mber, Spel and Eros, guys who had the love and did it right, and Much later on. Pepe out of NY is one of the best I see nowadays. To the newer generations... don't use such gay colors! And remember stock caps are your friend. Do your thing, enjoy yourself's.
