  1. The following are vintage pieces ranging from 1975 to 1978 during the master piece era. These pieces are part of a private collection and are not for sale. These are only to show what some of the founding fathers and 70's writers were doing and creating back then. Vintage RIFF 170 characters from 1975. Vintage WARM 2 piece by KOOL AID 131 from 1976. Vintage PART 1 master piece with character 1978.
  2. Some pictures from the master piece era during the early to mid 1970's. Here are a few examples of some trains that RIFF 170 had painted during the 70's. It was hard not to be blown away by the concepts and next level work by RIFF when it rolled by.
  3. The following handstyles are from NYC writers who started in the 60's or 70's. Here is a small collection of writers some of which are founding fathers/mothers of style. Stay tuned for pictures of more NYC writers and writers from around the world. 4. Head over to RIFF 170's IG account for a chance to win some free RIFF merch! Just follow the simple rules in the pic and anyone can enter from today until Feb 26 at midnight. Details about the quiz will be posted after everyone has entered within the time limit. Good luck to everyone who enters the RIFF 170 4000 follower giveaway!
  5. The following pictures were taken in 2019. These pictures are of pieces and tags from 1972/3 that are still up and running nearly 50 years later! These are for sure some of NYC's style writing history from the eatly years of the Master piece era. *If you know where these pieces are do not name the location and let others earn their pics and a chance to gaze at writing history!* Someone went over some history from the 70's.
  6. PHASE 2 was apart of the early years of Hip hop in NYC. PHASE has worked on quite a few album covers for many artists from all over the world. He was a man of many talents and will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched. From albums he did designs for or rapped on here are a few examples. Continue with your own research and you will find many more as these are only a few from my personal collection. Hope you are able to discover much more about the talents and how PHASE 2 changed the world with what he did.
  7. RIFF 170 painting a STAY HIGH 149 tag in 2019. This was at the RAY-B 954 and STAN 153 wall in NYC. This was a real treat for everyone to watch RIFF do a few tags on the wall. Some of us at the jam knew this moment needed to be recorded as RIFF wasn't really painting at this point in time. VID_20190928_174626.mp4
  8. RIFF 170 coming back in 2020 and painting two walls. RIFF 170 stopped painting in 1976 and has only painted a handful of times in the 80's and late 90's. It looks like he didn't lose the magic touch and never stopped painting since 1976. Wait until RIFF 170 comes back with his famous mechanical style on the walls. 2020 was a big year for seeing a real old school Boogie down pioneer getting back up on the walls. NYC old timers jam hosted in PHILLY by SANK 1 and BABY ROCK 137. Wall from NYC
  9. PHASE 2 doing a BOY 170 tribute from 2000. BOY 170 was one of the many names that RIFF 170 use to write during the 70's. Always something to see one pioneer go out for another.
  10. Here are a few vintage drawings by RIFF 170. These drawings are from the early 70's to mid 80's. From RIFF's master pieces, characters and tags you can see why he is an early 70's style writing pioneer from NYC.
  11. The classic SOLID BOT DON RIFF car was done in 1976. It was in memory of BOT 707's brother SOLID 1 who has passed away.
