been on a roots tip this morning , best live band in hip hop & my favorite group in music hands down .
met questlove at a kobe Bryant all star party in LA years ago - my uncles friend was working security and got us through the line , Matt Barnes was behind us in line & looked super salty when our homie grabbed us and took us straight to the entrance after ten mins of waiting .
I was pretty bored , taxing the open bar and got banished from the upstairs section (where Kobe was with his wife and other ballers) for repeatedly trying to jump the velvet roped off area . While getting escorted back downstairs I saw quest off to the side in a corner , macking on this Japanese broad . when she went to grab more drinks I went up to him and didn’t know what the fuck to say . Ended up being super awkward and saying “man you’re music is incredible and helped me cope throughout my life . Please don’t ever stop” he laughed and could tell I was tripping out and chopped it up with me for awhile , he was hyped I actually knew his bands material . I noticed the Japanese lady coming back soon after so I told him I had to jet and they started flirting again .
only musician I’ve ever fanned out on to this day . one day I hope to play keys on tour for them . . .
fun fact : Scott storch was an original member and main keyboard player for the roots on their first couple albums but started doing too much coke and ended up quitting to make beats . Guess it worked out for him ?

GOAT’s great man , I was able to score some older SB dunks at a super low price + two pairs of react element 87’s (which are going for $450/500 now) . StockX seems to definitely have cheaper prices and more quantity though , plus that cool tool that shows you the dates/sell price of every shoe on there . I’ll probably buy off of StockX and sell on GOAT and see how it goes .
I have a huge collection of skate shoes which I consider grails , most people don’t give a shit about em but since this resell game is a worth a billion dollars I figured I might as well scrape up some crumbs yknow ?
and yeah those lunar gato’s were lowkey one of the best skate silhouettes , they cut em from the catalog a few years back and then supreme resurrected em . Hopefully that drop sparks a general release return !

Just got verified as a seller on GOAT so I’m gonna try my hand at grabbing some of the crazy September Nike drops .
Missed out on the acronym presto mid shock drop yesterday . They got a hyped Jordan 1 releasing this Saturday , undercover X element 87’s on the 13th and more acronym X presto mids on the 20th .
Plus a bunch of others throughout the month so I should have a decent shot and scooping 1 of em . . ??

@diggitynice ! I'm a hugeee sci-fi/fantasy buff . wheel of time series is definitely top ten material for me .
the last three in the series were released posthumously + co-authored (finished) by brandon sanderson - dude who is writing the stormlight archives/mistborn series you mentioned .
was going to jump back and forth between the wheel of time series and some forgotten realms novels (icewind dale/dark elf trilogies) , but i'm waiting on our book club selection first !

@+plus+ I feel ya , I think this particular run in with the law is the one to make me calm the fuck down on breaking the law . . knock on wood . What sucks is I’m still waiting on my court date . Not knowing when or what’s going to happen is killing me . Could be anytime next week or in the next 6 months . Checked myself into an outpatient program in feb to jump start the sobering up process and to show the judge I’m taking initiative etc , but damn man I miss a J after a hard day’s work .
you gotta put me on to some dope current dudes , I grew up on that old boom bap/underground tip when it comes to hip hop so I got classic gems for days in the vault , but I’ve slacked on keeping up with the game outside of stones throw artists the past few years . Been listening to jazz musicians since I’m focusing on my roots in piano for this jazz program audition (which has to wait til 2020 due to this court dilemma) .

used to be in the top north american clan for this star wars pc game called jedi academy and i've witnessed my fair share of folks rage quitting pretty hard on ventrilo/in-game , especially during important ESL matches .

My fiancée’s hometown is named after a Frenchman who was mauled by a grizzly bear in the 1800’s , she sent me this (sorry for crappy photo) a few months ago .

Doesn't gotta be monthly , could make it bi-monthly or quarterly to start .
Selecting a theme/genre/time period and assigning each reading selection to a vote would be cool !
Could also use one of those "top 100 (american/sci-fi/all-time) books to read" lists and vote on a few of them . (like the list denzel was using in the equalizer lol)
Or select the top 2 most popular novels from major genres and throw them onto a ballot .
Long as the method keeps the material fresh and exciting - nothing too dense so that every reader can finish within the time allotted .
Also nothing to obscure or out there so that everyone involved can have a chance to download/purchase + appreciate it .

i am in LOVE with these shoes yo . . the fit is vcomfy , they’re really breathable & look great on foot . only downsides I can imagine are that they will probably be useless in the rain+get dusty real easy due to the materials used . (I don’t wear nice sneakers in the rain/dusty areas so this won’t be a problem)
Copped a pair of light bone last week . I got em @ $390 and they’re already at ~$450 on most sites in my size a week later . gonna wear these black ones and bust the bones out on special occasions .

lunch break ~ boss gave me a call earlier , the cunt owner of the motel down the street asked for a favor - his special imported ice creams for a party needed to be put into our warehouse freezer .
i cant fathom how the fuck that much ice cream could be consumed by any amount of humans (he said its for a small baby shower) .
i had to make space and load that shit solo . behind on payroll now . got the bump to salary recently so i cant milk the clock -.-'
12oz and the new polar skate video bout to recharge me , might rack a specially imported ice cream cone or two for dessert
