you're right dude, but I have had problems with straightedge kids. a lot of them are judgmental assholes, a few tried to fuck with me because my beliefs didn't match theirs, I wasn't on any kind of drugs. Not to say they're all like that; they're kinda like juggalos, enough of them are idiots to make everyone think that all of them are. There are idiots and assholes in every click, scene or whatever-you-call-it though, can't deny that. Point I'm trying to make is that I'm sober in all in pretty much all ways and I don't ever consider myself straightedge, they're not the same thing. straightedge isn't a lifestyle, it's just a style. But hey, minor threat kicked ass.

playing a show where? Seattle? I've still never seen them despite living close to seattle cause they have recently only played bar shows (for what few shows they play anyways). I just hopped to phoenix so I might be out of luck. Flood looks awesome but I have no idea how far they are into the production. The website and extended preview have remained the same with minimal updates since I discovered it in 2009.

dude you fucking rule for mentioning lightyears/gandahar. No one I know has seen that. I'm assuming you've seen Fantastic Planet and Time Masters? Both amazing and by the same creator. I love those old animated films, especially ones from france or the czech republic.

anything by directors David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, Gus Van Sant or Charlie Kaufman. It's probably already been mentioned but Sin Nombre is good (about ms13). Who Is Bozo Texino is good as well. Also if you have the means of seeing wonderlost, long gone or road to colossus then check those out; all very rare, independent train-hopping films.

Yup, gypsy punk is pretty much always hipster shit. If you want legit stuff that's not your run-of-the-mill gogol bordello bullshit (or other bands that are lame enough to put words like "gypsy punk" as their album name) then go to folklife in seattle, lotta good music there (despite the recent influx of yuppies). i meet writers there sometimes as well. Dark dark dark is alright, but they're slipping. At least they're making that "flood" movie that looks pretty cool. represent for the hobo writers. I've been homeless and ridin rails since i was 17. It's only been 2 years but it's been fine for me. I don't think hobo is dead at all, i meet plenty of them. Bein a hobo has been around as long as mankind has, just like writing. As far as this kid trying to get from roseville to oakland: I've never hopped south out of roseville, so I can't say from experience. What I can say from just being in the yard alone is that you should just look for some 48's or 53's rolling south at the end of the yard. I don't remember what the main is, but i know that stacks typically go to oakland. Watch for the bull. If this is your first hop then I'd say hitch instead, roseville yard is huge.

checked today, they didn't have any. I imagine it would be just about the same everywhere. I looked online, they seem to be around the 5 dollar price range. If you look at them they're big, like REALLY fucking big so 5 bucks is pretty good. Also found the little brother to dalo called Texpen. More pocket friendly looks like, same colors. Also found a pen from Markal that comes in a metal tube, like the kind super glue is in, and it does the same kinda bubble-paint effect as dalo. I'm pretty stoked to try these.

thanks guys, I've been wonderin about that shit for a long time. Looks like a lot of sites have them too, I doubt art stores would though. Maybe some kind of special order hardware store or a construction retail store or something. Now to get my hands on one...

hey I'm new to this site so i don't know if this question's already been asked, but i don't know what to search for so there's not a lot i can do. Anyways, my question is this: I occasionally see tags and monikers and whatnot done in some kind of 3-dimensional paint. It sticks out like half an inch at most, looks permanent, I've seen it in black mostly. So what the hell is that? some kind of construction marker? glue? something you melt? Where can i get that and can you make it? Help would be appreciated, no one else i ask knows what I'm talking about. cheers -iTch-
