while being a STRICTLY legal writer is pretty lame, it is important for kids to have a place to learn and practice before hitting the streets. for this purpose I think the Blok is great. It's also a place out-of-towners can come to show case their work and meet locals while putting up something nice to put in the photo album. But writers who frequent the Blok are also some pretty big time crews who DO put in lots of work else where, i doubt you would say the same shit to (TRC, SDV, TVC, OCP etc..)
maybe i am just playing the devils advocate here but i think cities need places like the writers block so that the streets aren't filled with garbage and where writers who don't know the scene here can paint and enjoy meeting some SD Talent..
You sound like an Army recruiter homie. The streets ARE the learning grounds. I prefer my streets with garbage, that's how you know who the shiners are! Last time I checked graffiti was about wrecking some shop and getting up...not practicing in the gym like a jock all day.
Just sayin'.
