Here EKSR,
Its not working because you are pasting in an HTML page URL, not the actual jpg.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2668/4146553556_a5403b85e2_b.jpg
-
you need to copy and paste the full url to the jpg.
Click "Full View" for whatever image you want to post here, scroll down and copy and paste the url from the "Grab the photo's URL"
to embed images on this forum the URL to the image needs to end in .jpg, otherwise it wont work.
then you just wrap the usual BBCODE img tag around it
(without any spaces)

i wouldn't say too complex, just seems like its missing soul. all the technique is there but its almost like a sandwich that looks hella good but the bread is hard. it lacks passion for some reason.
i think they spent too much time on the unnecessary details and crap without looking at the bigger picture. you gotta take a step back and take everything in before you jump in and add a million hours of work. The hood and mask do not convince me. The illustration itself isn't very complex, its actually quite normal, but its lacking a lot that could bring it to that next level. composition, flavour, style, it all needs some work.
No offense abastraction, I certainly can't draw the way you do, so i have respect for you in that way, i just think you are capable of more.

A little too complex. Try simplifying things more next time

Enough with the caps lock. and everyone else, shut up already.
Here's something I'm really not too happy with. If I had the time I would have developed the face more and added iller shit, but this had to be done last minute for a show.

yeah that mock is fuggin ill. who said they know how to mix colors with the elmers painter paint markers?
i know the nibs come out, but i cant get the paint to actually come out..
you gotta remove the plastic wrapping around the marker, and then untwist the top.
then you remove the plastic insert inside it that has the spring in it.
just play around with a dead marker and you'll figure it out

Less of a focus on letter structure, more about the characters in this one
2 feet by 4 feet, airbrush and markers.
Terrence is the dude's son's name who commissioned this.

just a quicky question, so buying canvas is breaking my wallet. any suggestions or what do you guys do?
Walk down alleyways and find free boards of wood.
Old shelf wood is good, anything with some kind of finish.
You could also invest in a giant roll of pre-gesso'd canvas in a roll, and stretch it all yourself.
a big up roll of canvas costs about $50, could make a fuck ton out of it

Yay, saturday

The Elmers markers are the best. Its the most opaque white i've ever EVER used, and every colour (except for orange) covers amazingly.
Not only that, but they dry matte, unlike the Sharpies. Which is better for taking flicks, and easier to see what you've already painted when doing your second or third coat. (sometimes i do 5!!)
And when you make a mistake, its easier to wipe away with your finger than the Sharpie paint (not talking about the oil based sharpies, those suck big sweaty donkey dick)
Aaaaaand because I hate posting without a picture, here's an older piece.
each canvas is 20" by 40"

Yea, stick with whats in them. But be wise about it. For example, If I need to make a light lime green, I start with one full marker of white as a base (very important, and sometimes I pour in more white to fill the marker completely so that I have enough to get the job done) and add a tiny bit of yellow to make it pale pale yellow, and then a microbe of blue to switch it to the green.
These paints do not behave at all like normal acrylics, so be aware of that.
Watering down acrylic to put inside the marker will not work, it will just make a mess of your canvas.
That said, here's a piece i did with 95% custom mixed colours. Its on a long board.
Sort of a grainy picture, the only colours I didnt mix, are the white and orange. And thats a dark purple you see, not black or whatever....

Letters kind of suck on this one...

apart from the crew itself, and the work in here, this has to be the gayest thread on the planet.
