    Alcoholism

I've noticed this too. I'm happy I've been able to go from heavy daily to just weekend warrior, and because of that I never really considered myself an alcoholic. Especially since I can stop for a period of time with not much problem. I have noticed that I really look forward to my weekend drinks though. I'm not too concerned about putting a label on it. Honestly a good amount of the reason I'd like to stop is that pain in my liver/kidney area that I have mentioned in this thread before that happens when I drink. I'm starting to get concerned that I'm doing damage to my liver. I have been drinking since I was 15, with different amounts of use over that time; I'm coming up on 20 years of drinking. Roughly, 15-18 was weekends, 19-21 was every other day or so, 21-22 was heavy (daily), 23-28 was limited (once a month or so, those were the dope years), 29-31 was very heavy, daily, 32-now has been weekends. So it has always had a part of me in one way or another. But yeah on your list of triggers, a few of those are mine too. 'Hungry' and 'weekend' together are a definite one. Especially since I'm kinda like "can't have ribs without Heineken", "can't make Mexican without Modelo" and so forth. @fat ralphyThank you for all of the insight. Sorry about the friend and the wife, but I'm glad you're pulling through. And yeah an addict of any type will always have those thoughts like "I've done good this long, I've proven I can keep this under control"... any type of excuse is always there, lol. With covid, everything has been thrown into a loop. I know there's Zoom AA meetings and such. I'm probably just gonna try to make a better effort. Not give in to triggers, ride out the days, keep myself busy where I can. Definitely going to go running when it gets dark today, this past weekend was kind of a shitshow once again.

    Alcoholism

I could use some advice from people who have been sober for a few years+, so @fat ralphy, guessing @Elena Delle Donne, and so forth. I have been able to stop daily heavy drinking, as of maybe two years ago or a little less, after I gave up dope I was drinking heavily for a few years, every day, most of the day. I am, mostly, able to keep it to weekends now. So Friday night, Saturday, and sometimes Sunday. I also seem to have no issue taking short breaks for 2 weeks or so at a time. I like the clarity of waking up sober and feeling like I'm on top of my game, and not like my brain is working at 33% because I'm hungover and just feeling like shit from drinking the previous night. I'm also a lot better at work when I abstain. I just cave every now and then, especially on a Friday after a hard week. Stress is a huge trigger for me, and I've been mad stressed lately, even though inside I know drinking isn't going to make anything any better. I have the desire to be 100% sober. When I was using in my 20s I never assumed I would make it to 30. Now that I'm here and things have turned around I feel like I should be here for the long haul, and quitting alcohol completely would help with that. Just not quite sure how to make the jump from weekend warrior to completely sober. I will admit during the week when things go wrong, mostly at work, I do have cravings to drink. But usually I'll go for a run or something and just watch the clock until it's time to take CBD and melatonin to sleep.
  3. If I wasn't washed and still made rap letters on walls, I would be having the time of my life with this mask shit.
  4. Honestly I don't know anything about these guys aside from the negative shit I've seen in the news, and I am out of fucks to give for the rest of the night so I will be willfully ignorant until I revisit this thread at a later date. But I just wanna point out... you grew up in Miami. You HAVE to know that there are a fuckload of Cubans here who think they're full fledged, 100% gringoes. You can hear the shit talk about "los negros" or the jokes like "los oscuritos piensan que es welfare" if you listen to peoples' conversations. Until they get north of Broward and are in for culture shock when they turn into just another brown person.
  5. Nah it's not like right when they walk in, I start coughing. More like I'll do a quick "hmmmph", followed by another, by a few soft coughs, by a small break, then coughing fit. I have to admit, I might be biased, but I think I do a pretty good job
  6. I have done some social experimenting with this and I have found that 99% of people do not give a shit. I live in a ~400 unit building, they say to wait for another elevator if there's already 3 people in it, which I can agree with. They have said that masks need to be worn in public spaces. Yet, you still have these people every now and then that decide they're gonna get in the elevator with no mask. Of course when that happens I'll start going into a coughing fit, you'd think they'd move away as far as possible or get off the elevator, but nah. No fucks given. The other day at the store this girl not wearing a mask kept getting close to me (where they have also said no entry to the store without a mask), I coughed and said fairly loudly to my girl, "I hope I test negative for covid soon so I can get back to work, this is bullshit and I'm losing money" while this bitch was directly next to us. Looked at me, but didn't move an inch.
  7. Might not be true for non-Americans, but remember when we were growing up (in the 90s for the boomers like me) in elementary school, when the teachers or your parents tried to motivate you? They used to say, "You can do anything you want. You could be president some day if you put your mind to it"... imagine saying some shit like that to your kid now. I could see a 7 year old being like, "Yeah, no shit..." Whole thing was a trainwreck. Trump was his typical child self, Biden handled it all quite poorly. He has a temper too, and he lets it show... like bruh, you're supposed to take the "I'm the bigger person" card here. That is what people want to see. Moderate voters like myself are sick of listening to Trump whine, make shit up or say some outlandish shit then proceed to deny it, the whole package... just done. We don't need a different version of something like that. Although I do say I don't see him going on the disrespectful tirades that Trump has. Either way, this is the best that the DNC could come up with? Idk, I'll probably be voting Jorgensen even though I don't 100% agree with everything libertarian I do agree with a good chunk of it. The American 2 party system is a huge fucking joke, and we're the ones paying the price. I can't vote for Biden after reading his gun control plan, and honestly I can't get over the whole '94 Crime Bill thing with him trying to come back now as some kind of hero against racism when he's directly responsible for locking up who knows how many black/brown people for what in many cases equates to nonsense/non violent drug crimes. I do agree with his mask mandate. Normally I'm pretty anti-government-in-your-personal-business but sometimes we have to realize the average person is just a moron and needs to be told what to do, especially in this case when it comes to having a direct impact on others. I can't vote for Trump because ...well, Trump.
  8. I have a recollection of this happening too, except it wasn't directly into my asshole, just on my buttcheek. "What's that spr... ah shit"
  9. I don't live in Texas, but it's an increasingly common trend where people leave someplace because it has gotten unaffordable, or they don't like the policies of that place... then, they move to a new place in droves, and try to change that place into the place they left. They do this by voting for the same policies that got their original home city/state into the situation that it's in, and go with the, "In ______, we did things this way" whenever a new idea is brought up to them. I'd consider myself a moderate I guess. Debatable topic, but there needs to be a good balance of everything. You can help people to an extent, but you can't let them walk on you, either. We see the same shit here in Miami, except it's the opposite way around. We have a lot of immigrants from communist countries like Cuba and Venezuela, that see anything slightly progressive as "socialism" and will vote red just because they're afraid of what they saw in the past, and essentially are still voting for that country instead of voting for the US. Actual working public transportation that requires tax dollars? Socialism. Wearing a mask so we can get out of this fucking pandemic sooner than later? Socialism. But those same people are more than happy to go get those free COVID tests, and more than happy to take those stimulus checks. Before I hijack the thread too much, I had the displeasure of visiting SF last year; luckily, I didn't pay for it. But that place was a total shithole, honestly. Only place I've ever seen people openly smoking crack and shooting dope on the sidewalk. I would like to share this wonderful view that I had while drinking a coffee one morning. Yes, I'm aware this was in the TL. But I saw the same behavior downtown, too. Russian Hill was the only neighborhood where this behavior wasn't so plentiful.
  10. I take a few fat rips from my jenkem jar, give it a minute to kick in, put my Sharpie halfway up my butthole, and head out. Basic shit.
  11. By the grace of God, I started to do the right things. I have had many late night talks with our lord, and he gave me the wisdom to realize that our melanin-rich brothers and sisters on this earth, actually cannot help being loud in movie theaters. It's a part who they are, and it's not my place or my right to try and take that away from them. God bless.
  12. I've thought about this too. I'm still over here wiping down my groceries with disinfecting wipes. Might be unnecessary but it doesn't take that long so the potential risk isn't worth it for me. Which allows me to segue into... it's crazy when you really pay attention to how many times you touch your face a day.
  13. God damn this thing looks like it's for TPWFs. Doesn't even look like a full size truck. I'd still take a ~'88 Bronco with the 351W in it, personally. I also couldn't find the sense to buy this because, a) never buy the first model year of something new, and b) I bought a brand new car once, not worth it for me again. Depreciation sucks and I don't keep cars that long. I've had my current car 3 years, that's the longest I've kept a car in my life.
  14. We're all tired of talking about the 'rona, I guess. Stupid people gonna stupid. Ain't shit you can do about it. I know 4 people that have got it so far. One was bad for a few weeks, she went to the hospital but was discharged. One guy I work with, not sure how he's doing. Haven't really ever said much to him aside from "hi." Girl's sister's friend, she was doing bad for a while but is getting better. She was sick for like 2 months, apparently she didn't have the energy to get to the bathroom. She fat tho. Friend of a friend, guy was pissed that he was stuck in the house and couldn't do anything because he only had minor symptoms. Probably why he got it in the first place. I'm still working from home and chillin' in the crib. Trying to keep the drinking to a minimum because there isn't anything else to do. Going for runs late at night when nobody is out.
  15. I mean, yeah. Can't say I'm not a little jealous though. I would have loved to travel on someone else's dime just to paint and not have to give a shit about getting in trouble. That sounds like living the fucking dream.
  16. Bump almost everything on this page, that BAKER though!
  17. I wouldn't expect this to work well if it's just engine degreaser, that stuff is meant to be destructive against grease but not paint or anything else (specifically for that reason, imagine cleaning your engine and half the paint comes out of the engine bay). You might have more luck with brake fluid, brake fluid WILL eat paint. With that said though, I've tried to perfect a brake fluid recipe and it has never worked all that great. The ink fades after like a year and a half in the elements and the stain isn't enough to make it worth it.
  18. True, ain't trying to get exposed to that shit getting a test when I have no symptoms. TPBM has been to at least 5 countries.
  19. This thread is fucking weird. Some kid trying to get his parents to accept him writing (probably not gonna happen). Buying pre-split streaks. Where's the fun in that? Some guy in his 40s trying to join a crew, that's one hell of a mid life crisis. Usually people just buy sports cars. @Ray40If you want some honest advice without everybody just calling you a toy... You don't need all of these fancy products from Bombing Science or Art Primo or whatever. You need to make your shit look good with Rusto and the factory caps, nothing else. As you practice you'll find that you can make a fill-in or a handstyle look good with just a Rusto and stock cap. Once you have something that pops doing that, THEN worry about getting the fancy paint, caps, and whatever else. Your shit will look that much better. And if you don't know what etch is you don't belong using it. That shit will burn your skin off if you're not careful.
  20. This is what I don't get. This thing is extremely new, we're finding new things out about this virus damn near every day. Some people that have been recovered since April are saying that they still get winded doing basic tasks, even though they feel fine otherwise. I'd rather not risk it if I don't have to.
  21. Same thing here kinda, restaurants can only do outside seating. Our mayor flip flops worse than ... I don't know. But, a lot. 15,300 cases the past 24 hours. We outchea
  22. Where do you get the Jay-Z voice renderer?
