n heres some flixs, also about the 6foot+ deep yard thats against a wall, u can make scenes deeper then 2-3feet like i was saying not to if u can get 2 it from the other side otherwise it gets tricky

ll what kinda benchwork did u go with l or t girder? i say extend extend extend, the bigger the better but do avoid anything deeper then say 2 or 3 feet depending on how tall u r the area i build my yard is over 6feet deep and is a nightmare if something ever jumps the rails, i dont no about u but i like long trains but like u mentions ur doing a shortline but a shortline may still see long trains either throught trains or interchange trains can run, if u dont mind having the same train pass throught the same scene twice u could had a reverse loop or 2, also id suggest building some kind of stagging area trust me its worth it if ur going for realistic operation, finally i say fuck dcc, yea i mean its great n all mad trains running in every direction but unless ur real big on the sound factory of dcc i say stay away because u can do the same with dc and block wiring, if u have dcc ur ganna have 2 clean clean clean ur tracks cause any little bit of dirt on ur track or wheels even will cause problems, the power wont travel right throught ur track 2 the wheels 2 the decoder and setting will seem to be not working or wont do what u tell it and then u think ur shits broke, decoders fryed, ect. but its just u didnt clean ur tracks 12 times a week

zed glad u liked my alligator haha yea u guessed it i see shoprite trains out every xmas, there cheap but well built, i think once something goes its done, probly not worth the trouble trying 2 track down any broken or missing parts but good 4 only 25bucks i havnt had any problems n i got ones from 94 - 95

zed thanks for all the tips, turns out my boys dad is some kinda engineer and builds n wires some crazy shit at his work and i told him what i was doing he i think now after all he showed me n told me im just about a certified electrician, lolz, and the gauge wire we use on train layouts is to small for anything he uses so he gave me enough for my whole layout and all the switchs, i gave him an old MR mag with a how 2 make ur own walk-around throttle so maybe ill get lucky n his pops will make me 1, as for the weathering, yea i posted awhile back my first weathering ever i did on some granners that came wit a 2003 shoprite trainset that i got through a trade, i recently just repainted the unit....from this too this i kept the numbers the same everything else is swaped for espee, n 4 kicks, also zed thanks for the sawdust dip worked awsome, n fresh, real nice cars, gr also n get some track!

that reefer conversion looks like it has alot of potential, please keep us updated on it, that was very crafty using that truck, i also have a 86' boxcar and plan on running it on my new layout im working on, i dont think it will be to much worst on turns then those intermobels, anyway heres some fliks of the progress, its been a week and progressing fast, this first shot would look great if i photoshoped in trees where my house is haha thats the only flik i got wit an iphone so enjoy it the rest r from a shitty cell phone, backdrop back to some train shots, thats all for now maybe ill get more better shots over the weekend n some wit some graff, till next time hope every1 had a happy turkey day
