IMO: As far as academic value is concerned, I would put Alex Jones in the same category as Glenn Beck. The only difference is that Glenn Beck worships the financial elite, while Jones condemns it. Not to sound creepy, but I think you said you were from NYC before... I'm sure there has to be at least one freespace/infoshop place with some great zines and lit. I would recommend a place like that if your as into that hyperbolic anti-authoritarian stuff as I am. Shit's free to borrow too! http://wiki.infoshop.org/Directory_of_Infoshops Cheers

Dude's a waste of time in my opinion. I think the guy's heart is in the right place, and there definitely are very good reasons to be pissed off at what's going on in this world. I just think the infowars site is extremely counterproductive to their cause and misdirects a lot of people into these far-fetched conspiracy theories. There are plenty of issues out there to get involved with that are irrefutable fact, and are also more palatable to the general public than all this nonsense about H.A.R.P., chemtrails, NWO, illuminati etc. I think spending a lot of time reading that garbage really demobilizes activism. Twenty-five percent of women are reported as being raped in this country. There are transnational corporations poisoning millions of gallons of drinkable water every year. More than 10% of the black population between the ages of 24 and 29 is in prison due to ineffective, mostly racist drug laws. Right now we are standing on land stolen from Indians; people that actually know how to live on it sustainably. The U.S. gives billions in the form of machine guns and helicopters to Israel every year so they can continue to illegally build settlements in the West Bank against the opinions of a growing World Consensus. The U.S. also blocks economic and political progress in third world countries by funding dictatorships that facilitate the resource extraction by transnational, cannibalistic, corporate tyrannies. But no, lets focus on adjusting our tin-foil hats so the damn Jewish Masons don't hack our databases, steal our gold, and spray chemtrails containing barium oxide over all of the cities in order to control all minds! If you want a non-sensationalized, more academic source of information to hate those "in control of the system", I would recommend the likes of John Zerzan, Murray Bookchin, Emma Goldman, Howard Zinn, Edward Herman, Naomi Klein, Vandana Shiva, Lucy Parson speeches, Henry David Theoreu, Ralph Waldo Emerson etc..
  3. Thanks for posting that Avon. That Rigs mural is dope. So are a lot of those trains.. Especially that Obione and Blix

Gov. Scott Walker's budget fix bill also grants him the ability to sell off the state's power plants with no bids. The Kochs are probably hoping that Wisconsin legislators may pass the rest of the bill in hopes of saving collective bargaining. check it out on forbes too: http://blogs.forbes.com/rickungar/2011/02/22/a-secret-deal-between-gov-walker-and-koch-brothers-buried-in-state-budget/

16.896 Sale or contractual operation of state−owned heating, cooling, and power plants. (1) Notwithstanding ss. 13.48 (14) (am) and 16.705 (1), the department may sell any state−owned heating, cooling, and power plant or may contract with a private entity for the operation of any such plant, with or without solicitation of bids, for any amount that the department determines to be in the best interest of the state. Notwithstanding ss. 196.49 and 196.80, no approval or certification of the public service commission is necessary for a public utility to purchase, or contract for the operation of, such a plant, and any such purchase is considered to be in the public interest and to comply with the criteria for certification of a project under s. 196.49 (3) (b). http://news.firedoglake.com/2011/02/21/in-budget-bill-wisconsin-gov-walker-pushing-for-no-bid-sales-of-state-owned-power-plants/

Looks like its spreading to Ohio and Indiana as well.... I hate to sound cliche and compare this to Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, because they have gone through some horrifying bullshit for a long time, but I will say they have taught the world that the power belongs to the people, and If you organize you can have your voice heard... Oh and one more thing, The supporters of the bill were expecting to gather 60,000 counter-protesters and even had corporately funded buses running people in, but authorities put their numbers around 150 the day of their rally. HA!

I have been there everyday, and have crashed the past two nights there.. I slept under a statue of Lady Liberty last night with a bunch of fellow radicals and union dudes. I wish I could share more about what's been going on, but I am just so fucking busy and now backed up in homework up the wazoo. One thing I will say is that the press coverage fucking sucks, there is so much awesome stuff going on. A lot of people in this city are waking up to the fact that our government is not working for us. There is literature posted all around the inside of the capitol walls with irrefutable information of campaign contributions, details of the budget proposal and how they benefit his top contributors and so on. The craziest part is that most of the police are on our side too! I have not eaten this well in a long time. The community is backing us, and there is free, healthy food available 24/7, there are lawyers and former vietnam activists doing civil disobedience training and so on. Shits been quite the journey.

Recall this fucking bastard. http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_7f7b33ce-3f6e-11e0-b629-001cc4c002e0.html "Republican Gov. Scott Walker, believing he was getting a telephone call from billionaire campaign contributor David Koch, discussed the possibility of "planting some troublemakers" among people protesting his budget repair bill and confidential strategies for pushing the bill through — all with a New York-based blogger who recorded the call." Meet the Koch brothers Among Koch Industries’ better known subsidiaries across various industries are: * Georgia-Pacific paper and pulp company, maker of Brawny paper towels, Angel Soft toilet paper, Mardi Gras napkins and towels and Quilted Northern toilet paper. * Invista, a polymer and fibers company that makes Stainmaster carpet, and Lycra fiber, among other products. * Koch Pipeline Company LP, that owns and operates 4,000 miles of pipeline used to transport oil, natural gas liquids and chemicals. * Flint Hill Resources LP, that operates oil refineries in six states. * Koch Fertilizer, LLC, owns or has interests in fertilizer plants the United States, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, and Italy, among others. Another thing included in the budget bill that a lot of people are not talking about is that the Koch brothers are set to control all of the state-owned power plants, thus having an energy monopoly in this state. They backed the mass media propaganda campaign against Climate Change, they are not the kind of people you want running our energy! If you support workers rights boycott these fucks! http://www.followthemoney.org/database/StateGlance/contributor_details.phtml?c=116585&PHPSESSID=22bf189f0c094786e168070a7a7c97dd
  10. FUCK. Governor Scott Walker is blaming the recession on social services and benefit packages for teachers, sanitation workers, police officers, firefighters, streets dept workers etc but ignoring the fucks that caused this shit to begin with: Citigroup, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Goldman Sachs, AIG, Chase, the Federal Reserve etc.. Not only that but McDonald's, Microsoft, EPIC computers, and Apple pay ZERO taxes in this state. We could easily correct the budget by going after the rich fucks. Lastly, Piece of shit Walker gave out $200 million in corporate handouts to his cronies that sponsored his campaign. Fuck this Piece of shit. This is Class Warfare motherfucker! P.S. Wisconsinites better stop thinkin these Democratic politicians are that much better. They fuck us too, it's just not as ridiculously obvious. Sorry for ranting..

Saw Rev. Jesse Jackson Friday night and he gave a 15 min speech. Agreed with most of it besides the small part on pacifism and remaining non-violent. Also Tom Morrello of Rage Against the Machine, and members of Against Me, Rise Against, Dropkick Murphy's and MC5 will be playing on the square for free in support of our mission to kill the bill!

For the Past week I (along with 70,000 others), have been protesting in Madison, WI over the Governor's latest budget proposal attacking public servants and teachers pensions and their right to collectively bargain for their wage to make up for the millions in tax handouts he gave to all his cronies that funded his campaign. There's a lot of fucked up shit going on right now here (nothing compared to Egypt or Tunisia) and I have plenty of flicks and video if y'all are interested maybe I will start a thread? The national and international coverage is pretty fucked up, FOXnews is just plain awful and the "left" stations like MSNBC have it wrong too. No one in the corporate media has raised the point that teachers, street sweepers, police officers, sanitation workers etc are not responsible for this recession and no one has even suggested going after the greedy fucks that caused the recession (Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, AIG, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Chase etc) or going after the several corporations operating in the state of Wisconsin that pay little to no taxes at all such as Apple, Microsoft, Epic, McDonald's etc.... A lot of people see this attack on teachers and other public service unions as an attack on the Middle class, but for some reason no one seems to be having this discussion outside of the protesters on the streets and taking breaks in coffee houses and restaurants on Madison's capital square.. My mom teaches special ed kids for $21,000 a year and the only reason why she works for such a pathetic wage is for the reasonably good benefits that come with it.. My dad works for a different sect of city govt so my family is looking at a loss of about $8,000 a year. I'm not really here to debate anyone about this, but I will say if anyone wants to support the cause, you can donate pizzas to the protestors through http://twitter.com/iansonstate# Also boycott Miller, Coca-Cola, Johnson&Johnson and if you have one, Culver's Butterburgers and Frozen Custard. They supported Governor Walker's campaign and supplied neo-con counter protesters with buses.

I find your statements about the great plains indigenous not only offensive, but downright ignorant. They did not treat them as property. Your post clearly demonstrates why I don't want to come on here and debate with you anymore. I am not even going to dignify the rest of that post with a response and I am going to take my thoughts regarding these matters to other places from now on because there is no purpose in sharing my thoughts with you.

First I will start off with saying biofuel like ethanol is not plausible because it requires more petroleum to grow (with petroleum based pesticides and fertilizers) and harvest (with gas-operated combines) than it offsets. Second, Yes you are right, my bad Ron Paul isn't quite thaaaat bad when compared with other Conservatives when it comes to Big Oil, he is against Big oil subsidies. Thanks for pointing that out to me. But he did Vote NO on removing oil & gas exploration subsidies. (Jan 2007 http://www.ontheissues.org/ron_paul.htm#Energy_+_Oil) I think most of our disagreements arise from the fact that we have different philosophies regarding what the function of the economy should be. I agree with you that the freemarket capitalist economy is the most efficient at generating profits. But Environmental destruction -- deforestation, pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, etc. -- actually fall during recessions when production falls. That tells you that moments when the capitalist system is "healthy" and profits are surging are precisely the most unhealthy moments for human beings and the natural world. A particularly cynical right-wing talking point is that the recession requires environmental rules to be rolled back because they are killing jobs. Our economy turns things like living rivers into hot stagnant ponds converting moving water into hydroelectric power. Our economy turns living forest communities into two by fours. Our economy values the generation of something as unreal as money over living things. And that is where our differences arise because what I have gathered from your posts in the past is that profits are more important than these thing that I hold dear. I am not going to even get started on workers rights and union rights to collectively bargain for their wages and benefits. I think you have to keep in mind when you come to debate with me, you are debating with a goodwill clothes wearing, haven't had a haircut in 9 months havin, holes in his shoes, haven't showered in a week stinky mother fucker that would rather see green tree frogs hoppin around and Karner Blue butterflies suckin up wild blue lupine nectar than have a bunch of extra pieces of green paper with presidents on them in his wallet. I think you trying to argue with me about the concept of sustainability is like me trying to argue with you on what assault rifle would be most effective at a range of 1000 meters. I think we should use our time to work on common goals rather than debate our ideological differences, when we know we aren't going to change each others minds because we are both far to arrogant and stubborn.

Ok bro. I personally find your post a little offensive. By saying "like animals" you are implying that animals are natural rapists. First of all bruh, we humans are animals. Second of all, non-human animals don't rape. They mate during their estrus period bruh. Rape is a product of the civilization of mankind.

I don't know why you always bash the left, when they are no worse than the right. All politicians in this country are pieces of shit. Industry says they want "free markets", but they cannot sustain themselves without protectionism. Conservatives like James Inhofe and even Ron Paul (and the vast majority of others) consistently vote to subsidize the big energy companies and work to destroy small scale local community agriculture. read what I said: "do not regenerate on a human time scale" and apply it to coal, nat gas and oil. It is not sustainable bruh, and no matter how you look at it our (civilized humanity's) way of living has to be changed. We can either try to build a new way, and have a cushioned fall, our we can craaaaaashh....

"WikiLeaks cables: Saudi Arabia cannot pump enough oil to keep a lid on prices US diplomat convinced by Saudi expert that reserves of world's biggest oil exporter have been overstated by nearly 40%" http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/feb/08/saudi-oil-reserves-overstated-wikileaks?INTCMP=SRCH Better buy a bicycle and learn how to garden within the next 20 years fuckers. Oil be runnin' out quicker than imagined and our entire food and transportation system is extremely dependent upon that precious resource. It would appear that we could be losing a lot of ally's in the Middle East from all this revolutionary anti-west spirit too boys, and you know what that means: higher fuel prices, more invasions (think Iraq), more offshore drilling etc. With all these Conservatives in office, you know we aren't going to "clean" energy anytime soon either. EDIT: In addition, "Clean" energy isn't a real solution nor is it truly clean. Almost all of the electrical components such as copper, arsenic, cadmium etc have to be strip mined (highly noxious process), do not regenerate on a human time scale (so it's unsustainable) and require the same old emissions laden transportation process.

  21. I feel sorrow for other people in the world that are suffering from the ills of the global economy but I am well aware that I have it goooood. I do feel free spouting out to every one how immoral I find it that there are people in developed countries living in luxury with a constant flowing supply of arbitrary material items, while people in a lot of undeveloped countries can't even get the basic necessities for life. Consider the circumstances in which timber products, tantalum (metal required for the manufacture of electronics), oil and many other resources necessary for an economy based upon constant production and consumption come from and you will see large amounts of exploitation and violence (to humans and non-humans) all along the way. All so we can have plastic and paper packaging, red tomatoes in Wisconsin during February, car culture, fresh seafood served thousands of miles from where it was caught and a new cellphone every other year. I have radical opposition to the whole fucking system. It has got to go. It just kind of sucks because I can't have shelter, water or food unless I participate in the system that is destroying the planet and making life mostly miserable for 2/3 of the world so I always end up looking like a rabid nut-job hypocrite.
