It was all tags, only tags, first. Then dudes started outlining their tags. Or putting dots on em to make em stand out amongst all the tags. It was years (mid-late 70's) before fill-in's like we know em started appearing. Lots and lots of early original ground breaking writers had only tags and throws. It took a long time for burners to evolve into the '78-80's era that was made famous by Style Wars, etc.

I saw it at an art show in Paris. There is also a dope book for the show, my buddy in Paris sent it to me. I don't know the real title is off hand, but it translates to "Bombing The Street" The book I have has the pages with the letters R & S, I believe... I'll check and I'll scan and post if there's time/interest...
