  1. you're kinda like the Mclovin of your side of the argument, but i will entertain your questions. you're right, posting that many new armed guards at schools is ridiculous, which is why i say get rid of gun free zones, arm (or give the option to arm) hall monitors which are already in most schools as far as i know, that way you're not hiring over a hundred thousand additional guards. while we're at it, we'll say the principals of each school will be armed too. all of these people go through whatever firearms training IS adequate for these positions. in the case of a wrongful death lawsuit? well, who usually ends up taking the heat? Obviously my idea is a long shot. it will never happen. And it's not even the ideal layout for things in my opinion. What it is, is a less over the top version of what the NRA suggested that maybe, just maybe, sounds a LITTLE more rational and believable. it's what i wish the NRA suggested. then again, i think it was a CBS poll that showed 63% of people were in favor for the NRA's proposal. Every school across the country will never have armed guards, but if they rid themselves of being gun free zones, i have a feeling mass shooters would find a different, "gun free" place to shoot up.
  2. again let's punish the law abiding citizen who chooses to exercise rights by taxing them out the asshole. awesome idea. that will sure clear up this deficit alright. Morton, are you ever gonna say something worth reading, points worth discussing or just keep posting dumb shit? you sound like an idiot and im honestly getting sick of reading your garbage in this thread.
  3. squatting with no shoes is different but i can see the advantages. sometimes i'll do a couple sets with shoes and then without. you get a more natural feel with no shoes but im not convinced it's better, for me anyway.
  4. What? maybe im getting off topic but im a huge proponent of the second amendment. just like other amendments such as the 1st, there are rational guidelines. No, i don't think people should own machine guns or bazookas or whatever the fuck. there's similar guidelines for the first amendment like yelling bomb on a plane for example, or libel laws. conceal carry permits, background checks and references for those permits, background checks for gun purchases and mental health checks, to me, are pretty reasonable and rational guidelines for the second amendment. NY now requires background checks for buying ammo, which i don't agree with, along with rifle/shotgun registry. I have nothing to hide, but im wary of the government tracking my every move that way and knowing whats in my house. some of those places do have armed guards...not really sure about grocery stores, but i know some churches do, and some movie theaters in my area. that's where the argument comes in...you have all these other places with armed guards, so why not schools? I don't really agree with it completely, especially not before banishing the "gun free zone" crap that schools and some of these other places have. we already have security/hall monitors in all the schools i went to, so i don't see why if these people have conceal carry permits that they cannot carry while on the job. and in which case, go through some extra training. i think people who are whole heartily against the idea are imagining some security soldier decked out with an m16 and body armor and fully equipped to kick ass in the halls of their kids' elementary school, when it just wouldn't be the case. and im still waiting for an argument in favor of gun free zones from one of you anti gun nerdlingers....
  5. I guess it doesn't matter what they could have done since now they are all dead anyway, but i would argue that two parents with four kids probably could have done a little more to keep their guns less accessible to any of their kids instead of leaving them in the closet, not to mention loaded, or at least an equal access to ammunition. you're kinda right though with your sarcasm, if a cop showed up during all of that, he would've shot the kid. as the saying goes, when seconds count, the police are minutes away. On the contrary, I could post countless snippets from armed citizen columns, but i won't bore you with stories of people using guns responsibly for their intended use. i grew up in a house with a bunch of handguns and a few rifles. the rifles were kept unloaded in my dad's closet with the ammunition locked up, along with handguns in the same safe. i never had any idea where the key was to that safe and still don't, even with his handguns now on my permit. in other words, i don't think it's too hard to keep things like guns secured from children.
  6. Eastwood had that bottled up for pages. NY is a haven for faggot legislators. I'm not against common sense gun control measures but everyone's ideas of common sense differ a lot. Mine don't line up with Cuomo. I don't think restricting gun mags from 10 to 7 rounds will save a life anywhere. Instead it pisses everyone off. So I guess I can keep my ten round mags but only load with 7 rounds. I can also carry as many magazines as I feel like. I still haven't heard any argument as to why gun free zones, where practically every mass shooting has taken place, should not be eliminated. Obviously they don't work for any damn one except the law abiding.
  7. only the douchiest dudes at my gym wear those things
  8. keys wallet phone sig sauer .380 w/ pocket holster
  9. I consider myself to be pretty conservative on most levels, but don't line up too well with modern day republicans. in other words, that wonka meme has absolutely nothing to do with my beliefs. This place is starting to bum me out.
  10. my dad found a wallet in the street a couple years ago that had like 800 bucks cash in it. he held onto it and tracked down the owner cus his ID was in it, and eventually gave it back to the dude. the guy gave him 250 as a reward. Any time i've found bills on the ground, i've kept 'em. only a couple times it's happened. but i'd say at this point if i found someone's wallet or purse i'd try and find them and just give it back. to me there's a difference. plus im not some broke ass who needs to jack people's wallets or purses. random bills on the ground are fair game though.
  11. goat - world music listening to it right now for the first time, pretty out there...seems cool other than that, getting back into some older stuff.. and any Earth, but especially this one
  12. you can't find anything on any car forums? any problem i've had with my chevy i've found on some random car forums
  13. Re: Winter Jackets if they fit right i still think they look cool anyway, not that they are fashionable. got mine at the military surplus store around here for 30 bucks, probably my favorite winter jacket with a hoodie underneath for the price. cheap online too for the most part.
  14. Haha I thought that was a dr. Evil reference. Dumb idea I think though. They will make one and want to make 20 more to magically cure the debt problem.
  15. haha, not to mention drugs in maximum security prisons, supposedly the most secure places in the world.
  16. It's not quite THAT simple, because like I posted before, info taken from the FBI site suggests otherwise. In other words as gun ownership keeps going up in the US, violent crime keeps going down. I think we are technically at a 20 year low. And again, no, im not saying it's BECAUSE of more guns that it goes down, but at the very least the increased numbers of arms here haven't affected violent crime rate by making it go up. say what you want about crime in other countries and how you can't compare it, but the fact is the US is the #1 country for gun ownership, by leaps and bounds. by Decyferon's logic, we should have the highest gun crime rate....we don't. not even close. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. this whole thread is. And something is annoying about arguing constitutional gun rights with people who don't even live in this country, besides Fist, who's last big post made sense. The governor of NY gave his speech yesterday outlining his plans for increased gun control. half of it i actually agree with, such as increasing penalties for criminals caught with guns, and increased effort to keep them from the mentally ill. The part i don't agree with is banning the sale of "assault weapons," mainly because I'm not so sure Cuomo even has a definition of assault weapons. For now he means AR15 styled rifles, in the future I see him going for any semi automatics, including handguns. The other part I don't agree with is magazine limits. So I already can't carry more than 10 rounds in my glock, but i can carry multiple magazines of 10 rounds if i want. seems like a half assed law that does pretty much nothing. At the same time, to reiterate what Fist said, if you can't stop someone with 10 rounds in a handgun then you really don't know what you're doing in the first place.
  17. http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2012/jul/22/gun-homicides-ownership-world-list "The key facts are: • The US has the highest gun ownership rate in the world - an average of 88 per 100 people. That puts it first in the world for gun ownership - and even the number two country, Yemen, has significantly fewer - 54.8 per 100 people • But the US does not have the worst firearm murder rate - that prize belongs to Honduras, El Salvador and Jamaica. In fact, the US is number 28, with a rate of 2.97 per 100,000 people • Puerto Rico tops the world's table for firearms murders as a percentage of all homicides - 94.8%. It's followed by Sierra Leone in Africa and Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean" again, more guns doesn't really equal more murders. This kinda turns into the argument of which situations are "more important" than others, or which do you choose to care about more, OR whose lives the media would value more/report on because statistically, more people get killed by those weapons in the US every year than guns. but it isn't really as gripping as hearing about a school of kids being shot up. You're right though, nobody has killed 20 kids in a school with a hammer or knife.
  18. fist, your argument is getting weaker and weaker. realism - how about people who choose not to drink, yet get killed by drunk drivers? you're basically saying you can't compare causes of deaths because they are too different, when I don't see how that would matter during a time like now where gun control is the government's hot issue they are trying to ram through. Those people aren't going to discuss statistics like this on any media outlet because it's no good for their anti gun plans. None of them want to hear that the murder rate with baseball bats/knives/hammers/poisons is higher than the rate with firearms.
  19. yeah, and? apparently its the difference between being #1 and #10. It's also slightly different than being beaten to death with a baseball bat, which is higher on the list. Anyone who is anti gun isn't going to like statistics taken from the FBI, federal government or Centers for Disease Control because those unbiased statistics don't do a whole lot to advance your gun restriction agenda. plain and simple. Morton, do you ever look into ANY of your own questions? old age in a top 10 in the US? really?
