  1. I don't do cardio and I am doing a hypertrophy workout. AOD recommended that I lift heavy at least one day a week so I don't lose my strength. I think I may incorporate it into my workout.

What are you taking besides protein shakes (no homo), creatine, and eating like a beast?

Ever think you might not be making enough testosterone?

Eat some nuts (more no homo) Get plenty of rest, quit drinking, and stop jerking off to /b/ and have sex with real girls. Also is your protein soy protein? Soy raises the levels of estrogen in your body...eat meat (even more no homo)

  4. If all else fails, try this...

    bsn-no-xplode-781842.jpg

Ive heard healthfags say it's not good for you, but if you wanna make an omelet, you gotta break some eggs.

edit:: Make sure you get lots of sleep the night before also. Dont set the alarm clock, let your body wake up on it's own, and THEN take this... you're going to feel like superman.

They say the same thing about energy drinks, but i wake up early and fucking work all day. When I go to work out I am fucking tired...just dont take a shit ton of it, it says to do three scoops but I did that once and it made me feel like I was on bad meth...so I just do one scoop or drink a redbull

I dont do it all the time, just when i am exhausted from work and have no energy to finish my workout

  5. So thanks to errbody for the encouragement a few pages back when I was getting really out of it but I seemingly started the Soup vs the world snowball. Oh well.

So one thing that's been really pissing me off is that I get sleepy halfway thru a workout. Like literally sleepy where I close my eyes and just want to lay out. I don't know what the hell is happening. I usually push thru it but I don't get a whole lot done after. PISSING ME OFF.

    Problem? My diet? Horrible endurance?

My diet is literally a poor mans diet because quite frankly... I'm financially inept.

Mornings are a can of tuna and a banana, turkey burger or a few eggs n bacon. Afternoon ramen soup or sandwich of PB&J/tuna or lunchmeat. Dinner ramen/turkey burger/tuna or whatever my parents are cooking when I drop by for food. This has been what I've eating/afford for at least a month since I lost my second job.

5'10" 159lbs, skinnyfat type build. Goal is to build muscle, nothing special just wanna feel solid as a whole.

    Thanks in advance.[/color]

I have the same problem, but for me its cause I wake up early work all day then work out in the evening, I usually gulp down a energy drink or drink some NO-EXPLODE to get the get up and go to pump out my work out.

But for you it looks like diet, you cant put regular unleaded gas into a corvette and expect it to preform at its peak. Try adding healthy foods in your diet, beans and brown rice is a pretty cheap and inexpensive meal, and you are getting proteins and carbs that you need to get through the day

  6. i know a bunch of people who run in those vibrams, if you got mad blister then they might not have been fitted to you correctly, 2 people yesterday bought new pairs and literally took them out of the box for the first time at practice and ran 6 miles in 1m racepace 2m rest intervals the entire way, and said they were fine. i woould have thought theyd have tons of blisters too, because the first time i run in almost any new shoe i get atleast one blister on each foot.

and to everyone posting picture from that movie when i say "never give up, never give in" its from an agnostic front song. not a shitty movie.

Nah, they are fitted. I just have mad sweaty feet

I only got blisters on instep and big toe, taping should help and maybe putting some powder or lube (LOL)

Anyone know anything about these shoes? I see more and more people at the gym wearing em.

I have some and I run and work out in them, they are awesome. Only thing about running in them is seriously get used to them first and start light. I put them on day one and ran my usual mileage. I got mega blisters and it made my calfs so sore I could barely walk. You run in a different way then in running shoes (mostly land on the balls of your feet, instead of heel-toe) and use different muscles in your legs and ankles, but they really work. Usually i have a soreness after running from an old injury where I tore my arch, running in these no pain at all, they are awesome.

Also make sure you go into the store and get them fitted to you, they are in European sizes and are supposed to fit to your biggest toe. I wear a Euro 42 but got them sized at the store and my size in Fivefingers was 41. So go in and get measured for the best results

  8. i dont have experience with those shoes but flat soled shoes are recommended for deads/squats. you can just kick your shoes off if you feel like it when doing these moves. most people dont want to spend a ton of money on metal squat shoes and frankly... power lifters probably need these as much as michael jordan needs nike jordans.

the cheapest shoe for serious squat/deads are chucks. cheap. flat soled. your feet wont roll out of the sides of them. and they wont squirm around and 'bounce' in the soles of cross training/whatever shoes. some guys wear wrestling or boxing shoes.

i usually just wear chucks when doing lower days and whatever cross training or running shoe i currently have on upper days/cardio/etc days.

plus you get mad scene points if you wear chucks and a west side barbell shirt on the same day.

haha, Chucks. I wear Vans Era

  9. I joined a Military Science class at my school and I've been waking up at 5 am to do PT's the past two weeks and it's fucking serious! I've never worked out besides rock climbing a bit in high school. I have NO cardio. The first day we did the APFT (test) which is 46 pushups in 2 minutes, 53 situps in 2 minutes, and 2 miles in 16 minutes. Shit was rough.

Since I never worked out or ran before, I didn't think that drinking two cups of coffee before a two mile run would be a bad idea.... I think I did something like 20 minutes. It was awful.

But today on my own I ran 2 miles in 15 minutes, and i'm super fuckin stoked. The only thing is I get crazy stitches in my side about halfway in. Whats up with that?

It happens to beginners in running, you will get over it. You mostly get side stiches from running balls out with no proper work up. I know you are trying to compete with the big dogs but take it down a notch, you will get there. In the mean time drink plenty of water and you will eventually get over it as your cardio imporves

  10. Just got home from seeing the German band Civil Victim and local crust band Assbeer

Civil Victim fuckin ripped it. If they are coming your way go and see them, Also picked up from the show, Direct Control 7'' and the rippin Career Suicide 12''

NICE!! Where are you at Civil Victims is from a town not to far where I am (Stuttgart), they play here all the time and are awesome, I posted an album of theirs a few pages back

  11. Count... I'll look at my training log tonight and figure something out. It's a Google spread sheet and without opening it up to the world I'm not quite sure how to share it, but I'll figure out how to share the better parts.

Random... it's interesting to me how BMX bikes have evolved over the years. I was big-time into BMX in the 80's. Mike Buff, RL Osborne and Mike Dominguez were the big names at the time. Dirt jumping and half pipes were all I cared about. Saddles were plastic, chainrings were big, seat posts were long and the pedals left you with scars on your shins... for life. I really want to get another BMX bike but I think I'm a little too old to do so. I mean, I could but I would have to wear t-shirts with the sleeves cut off, baggy jeans that are hanging down around my thighs and a ball cap perfectly tilted to one side. Oh, and a cigarette hanging out of my mouth. Well, at least that's what the old dudes on BMX bikes look like in my area. Of course, they're also looking for their next fix and their bikes are beat to shit... and they work at the carnival. I heard there's a park just south of me in Gladstone that has a ton of BMX jumps and stuff... I need to go check that out.

You should, also check out the BMX thread. Lots of riders and oldschoolers like yourself.

I have been riding BMX since I was a kid in the 80s as well. I still ride and its awesome
