  1. i thought that was political graffiti too until i heard that was SMASH from brooklyn and some YKK dude rockin a RACISM straight letter. It was a big pun. And its "We need some D batteries for the theme music", (not D's) . you combined RICH BOY lyrics with PRODIGY. Throw some D's for the theme music.. Laugh Out Loud.
  2. a lot of good flicks and room for discussion... or questions really. my favorites off the top of my head from those listed are... ember, felon, exakto's handstyle, that taint nyc shot, those Rhode Island flicks (*damn how much that's changed), that takoma wall (*again another one that's seen a lot of change, cram not havin' amaze and sope (rip) tags too close to his shit (*regulatin' haha), that freight yard with the smk (was this the old rhodeisland/ny ave yard?), kelt and some rooftop next to 12 inch records aka burned down DJ Hut, DAD handstyle wow!?, RUST (another personal favorite), MESK the style master general, JUNE WPH of the "West Philly Rooftop Union" in the cut, i know that one scan53 is in the bay somewhere (is that DGA mural on the oakland tracks?), and i've seen some old CERT flicks in SF, is there some kind of necessary DC to the bay area pilgrimage that DC writers are required to take, because i know a lot of BA, ATB, IRS, etc. have taken trips out there.... its funny how you can only count on one hand how many of the things in those flicks still exist today... 1) that bridge-side Cert 97 2) that character on the Ft Totten platform 3) the Mesk "rooftop bridge thing" at AUP and whatever else... thank you cast... -DC's biggest toy
  3. bump dat sheet. diggin that guner/roy/bw brooklyn spot. the "real" youth rvs is tight. that choze is nice too.
  4. A lot of those flicks were tight. Diggin' that JPEG.
  5. Bump that shiiiit! and Bump EMEL whoever he/she is. (i like that mf grimm lyric)
  6. Some Unbiased Biasism The PG County Thread is just as detrimental to the PG County Graffilthy Scene as the Pupusa Makers and the inventor of the Couch. Good Job Everyone.
  7. lady and gentlemen, please please control yourselves from using keyboards and things like words, consonants, and vowels. i am here to make the announcement that computers and things like language are no longer used like they were in Nineteen Ninety Whatever. if you say something to me, i swear i just can't understand it. i don't know why. its 2008. Earth people..
  8. sape is getting a lot better and cleaner. he and grim are getting better and better. those OEnglish joints are kind of tight (both of y'all did one i think). i figure y'all deserve some positive rec. that DOPES bathroom joint is tight too!
  9. ^ "Like Gigli" hahahahahahahahahah. On the real though, this thread was awesome. Ese, when you aren't doing crazy things like this, please share more of your benches. Thanks in advance.
  10. yea i guess that's how it felt, since after CHILD's death, you hardly saw it get pushed again. i think OMEN, who was also down with DAM, sadly passed away also. Maybe that had something to do with it too. DAM was in its prime like 10/11 years ago on NJ highways and streets, and always seemed like a more illegal grimier younger type of QM8. I always thought Themo's throwup was bananas. Enough talk about NJ though... some people might get mad! shh shh.. haha
  11. SAT and SMK both repped the same crew AFU at one point. this is not to say that they're stuff looked similar at all. but writers within a crew often share similar aesthetics, but there's always exceptions to that generalization. they also both came from the late 80's/90's, during which many mastered bar-based wildstyle. a handful of other crews in that loose category, in addition to AFU and Fly ID, are FBA, COD, IBM, TFP, TNB, PFE, TM7, FX, QM8, YNN, TPA, FC, IMOK, etc...
  12. props on noticing that flat BAEX (Farmers Elevator Company of Bondurant, IA) car that has that old BAND on it. Both are rarities... I THINK. On another note, Band be listenin' to Digable Planets in 2008 still; he deserves honorable mention on that fact alone.
  13. that link to that zine/blog is pretty tight. i am really diggin' that ALEAS interview, definitely a remote influence. not that anyone cares about tall prints her, but dude said "...people just write their name up and down and think they're flexing on people with some OUT OF CONTROL "whatever whatever". you're not. you gotta run with the blueprint. crawl before you walk", which is the truth, and parts of which should be adapted to other areas of graffilthy. anyhow, bump the homie ocho.
  14. u need to control your damn mouth. don't have your respect? oh well. i never asked for it fool. and i definitely wasn't ever taking shots at you previously. phillies? hackakat? what the fuck is that? -not marion delgado.
  15. bangboogie, i'm not one to tell how others should act, but you should get your information straight before you make some accusations. i don't sit behind 5 screen names, and i certainly wouldn't do that just to talk some half-ass insults about how you type or whatever. that's just not how i roll. i've been in the same place and time with you on many occasions, but i never was disrespectful or arrogant (*and the same can be said of you). and i'm the same on the internet. feel free to ask your camp about who i am... or better yet just know this: i don't make weak punches on the internet; i make moves when and where they count. let's just say i'm a conservative new-school writer raised on old-school traditions.
  16. classic europe letters? not me buddy. i just enjoy the traditional shit... aka NYC shit with a little bit of philly, boston, dc, la (Porn/charlie), and even minneapolis in the mix. maybe in the process i'm rediscovering and coming up with new perspectives on the classics... but if i don't come up original, oh well. i feel i owe it to the pioneers in nyc and to fuckin graffiti in general to figure out old ways, instead of just immediately doing something shockingly original. the way i see it, i don't wake up as a white dude or whatever thinking i'm gonna innovate go-go music with some banjos and shit, because i personally don't see it as my role to tamper with someone else's shit like that. but i will tamper with it, with good taste. the fact and matter is... it is no shocking news that phase 2 and dondi would be shitting on me... in fact phase 2 was shittin on all of us for a minute. he specifically said that nothing new has been done since the 80's, except for mentioning SLICK from LA. but shit that's not gonna stop me from painting some letters.
  17. "We" do what we do because we're going for some kind of mass appeal for DC's sake. Not 4 Nothing, but as far back as 2000 whatever, everyone either disses or has no clue about DC. And we're NOT having that. So, we push for style that isn't too "dead-end"...i.e.- shit that looks like you weren't paying attention or trying too hard to be original. Naturally we identify with classic stuff that's legible and got that funk; its what gets respect and is the original foundation, regardless of what you have to say about compromising one's city. At the same time, we take into consideration where we're from/at. And if we're being hypocritical or contradictory, at the end of the day, at least we're having some fun, which unlike "the concept of style", is pretty damn clear to us. If you like another type of "style", feel free to run with it. There's nothing really stopping you.
  18. those chanel hands suck. who the hell writes "yea yo!" as a punchline. and "on top of the world"... that's an old mase and brandy song. wack wack wack wack. that bitch needs to stop writing that bitch ass name, and start writing something more real like "kill" or "destroy" or "steroids". football!! beer!!!
  19. i secretly wept when i saw that cert and nehi "back to the block we done partyin" jawn... i would say bump, but y'all might get pissed off (?) or think i'm talkin about some kind of nose candy. yea he was great and all, but how many times do we have to post that cycle wholecar or the other regurgitated DC internet flicks. we're all guilty of it. bonus and crack, thank you for actually taking and sharing your flicks.
  20. them cover's is awful. as much as it is busted, that dahm is pretty tight. it is true what they say... as long as you have some letter structure...
  21. really diggin this new THR stuff... that detroit stuff. from the internet, it seems like the some kids in the D focus on throwups, and i can kind of dig that. i was always a sucker for older or OG (as some say) THR stuff too... twist, tie, nemel, (*was dasar in it?), even though it never seemed like THR was pushed like some other really "Unified" or "family-oriented" crews out there. oh well. the harsh reality... think i've seen twist throw that up.
