  1. that science of the dog was pretty cool, I watched that with my pitbull last week as well.
  2. The Nets are still trying to pull Melo, of course. This is the best move they can make, the offer is still on the table. His agents will do a lap around the league looking at what other opportunities are out there, but I think that eventually he will sign with the Nets and come to Brooklyn in 2012. I can dig the Chauncey/Rip backcourt here in BK if it goes down with the 3-team Melo deal. Those 2 guards held it down for my '04 Pistons squad back when I lived in the motor city.
  3. it sounds like you got away with it. through the forces of karma, you may end up with a jacket booger sometime in the future, but that's just the way of the universe
  4. Dear 12oz, This comedian from Brooklyn made a youtube video asking for a million dollars and some dude in a top hat and monocle thought that was just marvelous, and guess what, gave it to him. Good for this guy, but seriously? I'm going to go on youtube, ask for a billion dollars, a pony, a double rainbow and a Shamrock Shake (out of season!) Let's see what happens. -Don C
  5. somehow I came across the british one a few years ago, I recall it not being funny. I've overly used "shameless" to describe situations for about 15 years, now everyone I know thinks it's hilarious to tell me I should be watching this show. William H Macy from Fargo?
  6. I tend bar for a living, one trick I often use when serving coronas: I open the bottle, put it behind my back, toss the lime wedge behind my head and catch it behind my back with the hand holding the beer, simultaneously placing the lime into the bottle. Then, when I serve the beer it looks as though I caught the lime in the top of the bottle. It's stupid, but idiot customers love it.
  7. The NYC airports closing was a bummer, I was in Detroit all week with my flight delayed, finally gave up and took a bus. Now I'm stuck at a bus station in Cleveland for the next 5 hours, I'd better see 2 feet of snow when I get to Penn Station!
  8. I recall 25 as being a great year. 29...not so much. Happy bday!
  9. The people I know IRL who like this show are terrible. For that reason, I am hesitant to give it a chance.
  10. the mcrib is no longer available at the mickey d's on broadway in my neighborhood
  11. when i was a student at michigan state, there was a pretty big kwanzaa celebration for international students. I was taking an integrated arts and humanities course taught by "King Isaac" who was at the time the 3rd largest recording artist out of Zimbabwe. He invited the class to the celebration, where I drank a ton of Zimbabwean beers.(Zambizi was the brand) It tasted like Labatt's, and in the end I didn't really learn anything about Kwanzaa, I just got really drunk with Africans.
  12. my roommate was slangin xmas trees in tribeca to rich people when he first moved to new york, those guys work around the clock during the holidays and drank more than i did(and I work behind a bar!) he would tell them shit like "this one's a blue diamond fir" etc, just making up fancy titles to tack on more to the price, and he would pocket the difference. Dude brought the best tree in the lot back to the crib, dragging it onto the 2 train. New Yorkers were surprisingly nice about it with the christmas spirit, hi-fives the whole way home.
  13. I skipped jury duty to go to a Yankees game, and at the age of 29 my job is to drink like a bastard every night and get paid for it with tips. All I know is pizza, wasted, and sleeping til 4pm daily.
  14. throughout my life I've been told that there is lead in the hot water, and to use it sparingly for showers but never to drink it. I'm not saying I blindly believe this, but it formed a resistance in my mind to hot water when it comes to any kind of ingestion.
  15. hahah I love how they chose the blackface Mac portrayal of Danny Glover to say "Go suck an eggg" to the villain
  16. voted for Horman's. although a bar i work at does business with McClure's for the pickle juice, to be served as a "pickle back shot." I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about.
  17. The Utah Jazz played a good one tonight with overtime vs the Heat, Paul Millsap with like 44 points? I thought Francisco Elson was gonna intentionally miss that second free throw. The PG matchup was (initially) the only strong point I thought the Jazz were gonna have coming into the game. Of course, Lebron still killed it with a triple double
  18. Haha I thought the Lions were gonna nab him. BTW go Suh!
  19. Back to the Sixers, Jrue Holiday could shine this season, dude had like 13 dimes the other night. /fantasyleaguestatoner
  20. John Wall on the Teach Me How To Dougie tip, the kids are lovin it. This is one of the better SportsCenter happy hours I've had at the bar in some time.
