a rope tied to something small and throwable. throw it through the ladder, tie it off to something, and then hoist yourself up. this is actually a very bad idea. i bet it's way harder to maneuver up on top of one of those things than you might imagine.

get one of those beer can bandoliers that is sold to rednecks as a novelty item. actually don't, just use a backpack like everyone else.

any strong magnet will do... you don't need to buy imported special-graffiti-endorsing-brand-name-magnets custom-shaped to fit the bottom of a can. protip: you can fish some really strong rare earth magnets out of old hard drives

you must mean don't paint a train CAR that has a piece on it already yeah, sure, i'll go up and down the whole train and if i see a piece i'll just go home. maybe i try to find a clean car first, but if there aren't any good ones it gets hit off to the side of a car that's already got some paint on it-- not going over whats already there of course. remember the things have two sides to them~
