This is a long time coming since I just joined this place now but I grew up right down the street from CHIP, CHOPER and BRACE. It couldn't have been a better place to live for an aspiring writer. My neighborhood in the BX in the late 80s, early 90s was the palce ot be - BX graff style was so strong and domniating and I had one of the best teachers - actually a few teachers; the whole KTC click at that time - CHOP, ACEPT, BRACE, DRED, WARNER, CODE, CORE2 and others. They taught me without even knowing it. BRACE and DRED were major influences on me as far as style goes - and having multiple styles, changing letters, having alias names to practice letters with - pretty much everything. He was a crazy MFer too - catching tags in the middle of Tremont Ave in broad daylight was always fun! Bombing the spot on the 5 behind the old Pool building was a little haven. Sitting on your steps and talking mad shit all day long is what I miss the most though....
BRACE is truly missed by everyone who knew him. If you were his boy you were boys until the end - he would do anything for you. ANYTHING. Rest in Peace my brother. It's been too long already.
