Im currently running ksyrium SLs on my roadie and would recommend them, free wheel isnt loud, stiff and pretty bomb proof. I have hit a rock dead on at about 45kph popped a tube but didnt affect the rim at all. If your buying 2nd hand make sure you get the star spoke key. Only downside is non standard nipples / spokes etc. In other news managed to get one of my mates who thinks cycling is for faggots out on a tech MTB trail today, he went over the handle bars on the 1st decent and lets say has a new found respect for it.
