  3. Two killed by Tube train By Bonnie Malkin and agencies Last Updated: 11:31am GMT 13/01/2007 Two young men have been killed by a London underground train after running from security staff who saw them spraying graffiti, British Transport Police said. The pair ran straight into the path of an oncoming train at Barking tube station in east London after they were caught spraying graffiti. A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed two boys had died. advertisement He said security staff had spotted the two men, who were part of a group of four, and called out to them, at which point they ran off. He said: "The boys were graffitiing the trains. There were four boys altogether and they were noticed by security, who called out to them. "Then they ran off and two ran right out in front of an oncoming train." He added that a third had been arrested by the Metropolitan Police, while the fourth had managed to run away from the scene. Police say their officers do not chase people in these circumstances because of the dangers from trains and electrified equipment. The BTP later said the two victims were aged 19 and 21. A spokesman said he understood they were struck by a westbound train heading towards Ealing Broadway at around 11pm last night. He added that another moving train, behind the tube that killed the pair, might also have been involved in the accident. He said: "One train killed them but I believe they came into contact with another moving train." The man arrested at the scene is 23 years old and is being held at Forest Gate police station, the spokesman said. He added that the graffiti squad were examining some property found by scenes of crime officers under one of the trains.
