  1. It was actually super successful. But you're right, Austin knows nothing about how to have a successful festival. Live music is a new thing for Austin, we're still figuring it out. Saw Hannibal Buress and John Benjamin the first day. Followed that up with Bun B. Then X. I got super emotional during the music. Longed for the days when people were screaming FREE PIMP C. X was amazing. David Cross was onstage dancing. You could only see him from a certain angle. But it was cute to watch that. Run DMC did two songs. But Jay's kids were out there DJ'ing..so that was cute. I think we also saw SuperChunk too. Saturday brought P.i.L. Super excellent. Johnny Rotten is still a really charismatic front man. If you would have told 13 year old me that 20 years later I would be standing 20 feet from Johnny Rotten, I would have called you a liar. It was such a surreal experience to be watching them, with downtown Austin and it's skyline as the immediate backdrop. I fell in love with my city all over again this weekend. We also saw David Cross do his stand up. And Wyatt Senac. They both were good. Obviously. Oh, we saw Wavves that night too. They were good. White kids in the age range of 18-24 loved the shit out of them. Good for them. Get that white kid money. Afterwards we went to my favorite bar and saw A Place To Bury Strangers or something like that. I would have wrote them off due to their band name. Thought them to be some Hot Topic pseudo-metal band in the vein of 3 Inches of Blood. But they weren't. They almost reminded me of Jesus & Mary Chain at times with the feedback. Then Black Moth SuperRainbow. Half way through I decided I was tired. So we rode home. And ate sandwiches and watched Too Cute on Animal Planet. Yesterday we got there for Eugene Mirman's standup. Dude is seriously my favorite comedian. After that we ate some popcicles and met up with friends. Fucked around a little bit because Rakim cancelled due to the hurricane. Fucked Up. KILLED IT. Dude did the entire set out in the crowd. With the people. As hardcore should be. Then on to TurboNegro. It's always exciting to see TurboJugend enmasse. From all corners of the world. I hadn't seen them in about ten years. Not since Hank Von Hell stopped singing for them. It was good though, as to be expected. High energy, good banter with the crowd. After the fest we went to another favorite club and saw a few bands that I don't remember any names. Then Ceremony played. Beyond awesome. Everything I could want in a band. Each band member has his own brand of charisma. The crowd went wild. It was probably the best band I saw all weekend. I also did little parts of a lot of other bands. A$AP Rocky..gave him a few minutes of my time. Did not like. Same goes for AARAB Musik. And some others. The Sunday/Odyssey BMX demos were rad. The food vendors they brought in were on point. We each left with about a carton of American Spirits. Saw a lot of friends. It was fun. Fun. Fun. Also...$200 for a weekend festival isn't much at all. If you're stressing over $200...then I feel bad for you son. With the wristband, you also get in to night shows. Which happen from Thursday to Sunday and are about 50 bands each night. It's actually very reasonable.
  2. IT seems like more dudes would be into fat chicks. At least it's a pretty solid bet she will cook you a meal. (talking from personal experience as a thick chick)
  3. TurboJugend Austin STAND UP! Denim Demon forever.
  4. This will wrap up the weekend. Burger City is also doing a lot of real awesome stuff lately. He's got a whole scene going. Straight forward rock and roll for the kids. There is gonna be an entire generation that Burger City will be their youth. It's cool to see something like this happening and really taking off and getting success and respect. PS. This is so super good. Despite the unfortunate band name. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX1Ka8bEeC8
  5. The dudes that put this together do a stellar job. 90% of the awesome shows that get booked in Austin can be credited to the Transmission Entertainment dudes. They deserve all the success they have. Hard work pays off. I should be showering up and getting dressed for this. Instead of drinking coffee by the pint and watching cartoons with kids. It will all come together. I will just get ready in the car on the way there. The weather is beautiful out. This weekend is gonna be so so so good. FFF>Chaos In Tejas>SXSW>ACL Austin is just one fest after another. No complaints here. It does make traffic and parking a hassle. But bikes are better, anyways.
  6. There's also a Free Ride put on by Odyssey & Sunday bikes. I'mma take my Sunday Funday down there and ride with Aaron Ross. Chea.
  7. It will be fun. I don't know anybody that has been disappointed in the past. I'm stoked. Dwarves. OFF! X TurboNegro. Beach Fossils. Bun B. Eugene Mirman. Hannibal Buress. David Cross. WEIRD AL TRIBUTE BAND!!!! Yeah. I am so in it to win it. I was supposed to go last year. Mainly to see Danzig Legacy. I ended up opting to sleep all night. And let the tickets just sit there at Will Call unclaimed all night long. So it goes. This time will be different.
  8. http://funfunfunfest.com/artists So. Any of ya'll going? Should be super good.
  9. Just ate breakfast. Hanging out with little kids. About to make some soup.
  10. I am not reading this, but I get excerpts of it read aloud to me.
  11. Eh. No sweat off my back. I've got thick skin & if there's one thing I've learned...it's that you can't please everybody all the time. I'm actually super down-to-earth and pretty humble. For being totally fucking awesome.
  12. My voice is heavenly. Just last night Stza Crack was trying to talk me into doing a rap album with him. Cause I have such a good voice. He was drunk. I didn't put much weight into his offer. Still. People like my voice. I will also be at Burger Records Leather Weather Forever Winter Formal on Sunday. If you're in Austin, you should go go go. I'll be the one in an expensive dress that makes me look cheap. And a leather jacket that once belonged to Marc Bolan. Too legit. Tomorrow brings Hannibal Burress and Bun B. Come drink a Topo Chico with me.
  13. Halloween is pretty cool. PS. I do this shit. http://holyghostoverdose.tumblr.com/ It's whatever.
  14. I don't have AIDS. Or any STDS. Which probably surprises some of you. I go to CA meetings in the bldg next door. Went to some Halloween parties last night. Was aight. Saw a bucha wasted friends. Tomorrow is Fun Fun Fun Fest. All weekend. That's where I'll be. Say what's up if you see me on the streets.
  15. Thanks. Certain aspects of it have been difficult, but in the end, it is all worth it. Life rules.
  16. Drinking a pint of coffee. About to cook some food. Then go crawl back in bed.
  17. My man was in jail. So I got his name tattooed on me. Hoodrat stuff.
  18. My bathroom. Typical scene going on there.
  19. I just bought a pair of handcuffs and some duct tape. What We Do Is Secret. From this. To this.
  20. I'm gonna be a 90's industrial goth Minnie Mouse. Furreal. It's gonna be so stupid. My man's got a legit Odd Fellows costume from the late 1800's. He stays out-shining me.
  21. I don't smoke weed. But got mad pinball skillz. I am stupid looking. Duh.
  22. Thanks. I feel like it's "real" now. A nice milestone. It was good to have all my friends at the shop be so stoked on what I am doing. It's nice to have supportive people in my life. And friends that stuck around through all the bullshit. It is the longest time I have ever been sober on my own accord. I've had that prison clean time before. But that was not because I wanted to be sober or wanted to be in prison. This time it was easy because I wasn't being forced into it. I didn't have anything to prove to someone else. It wasn't because I had gotten some ultimatum to "get clean or GTFO". I just got tired of being a piece of shit. And destroying everything around me while hurting people in the process. This is pretty much the coolest picture the internet has to offer.
  23. Here's a fake Toynbee tile that is in Austin.
  24. I still have a Sparks/Virgin Mary tattoo. It is still unfinished. Ten years later. I haven't drank a Sparks in probably 5 years. So no point in wasting time getting the tattoo finished. I don't agree with a lot of things I have done. It is what it is. I could say the whole, "You can't turn a ho into a housewife" "A tiger can't change it's stripes" "Play with fire and you're gonna get burned" Shit. The truth is that people have trusted me, and I have betrayed their trust. I've always had trouble with relationships. And feeling for others what they have felt for me. It has been said to me that I am an emotional robot. And fickle. And I can turn and walk away from people without looking back or thinking twice. All that is true. Things are different now. I am different now. Last night while being tattooed, my buddy said something to me along the lines of how "isn't it funny when you love someone, that you actually take into consideration their feelings and their wants" Then he went on to talk in depth about that lady that got her butthole tattooed at a convention. Here's some tits.
  25. Got this little Viking dude on my thigh tonight. People love tattooing over old cutter scars. Really. I also got my palm touched up. And got to show off my 6 month CA keytag. Anonymity ain't my thang. The skull was done on a lady friend of mine.
