  1. I haven't had the orchard white, but the Black Orchard was a letdown. Way too high on the carbonation. The Mischief, on the other hand, was great. And two thumbs up to the double dog. That's an awesomely unbalanced beer and I love the boozy finish.
  2. There is no chance they'll write him off the show. No way.
  3. The avery dugana is good too, more of a "standard" imperial IPA. The maharaja is an amazing beer and is no joke indeed, seems to me to be a little hotter with some unusual spicy flavors that taste faintly belgian-like to me, but I don't think it's brewed with belgian yeast or anything. Try founders centennial IPA, my favorite beer lately, really a delicious beer. The other night I tried this: supposedly england's hoppiest and highest IBU beer. In other words, an american style imperial IPA brewed in england. I liked it alot, but i was pretty faded alread and only got a small sample-sized taste so I can't really say much more about it.
  4. I woke up scraped, sore, and missing a tooth last week thanks to that beer.
  5. Clearly you're wrong here. The US has a huge number of troops stationed along the DMZ and is conducting joint naval exercises with the south. They're an important trading partner and we've supported them since the Korean war. It's not about communism any more, you're right, but there is absolutely no way we'd stand by and do nothing if the North invaded.
  6. That mickey mouse greve is fresh.
  7. That was a great episode. You'd think with the mexican guys dead, things would get a little easier, but the shit going on in walt and jesse's heads is just as terrifying as dudes chasing them with guns. And the scene with Walt falling off the catwalk down onto the floor was hilarious.
  8. I thought the last few were nail biters.
  9. I went ahead and drank a matilda after the sofie last night. In comparison the matilda is much sweeter/heavier on the clove and banana flavors. Also quite a bit darker.
  10. this makes me wish I was paying more attention to CH0 when DAO originally got banned, oh well.
  11. drinking this tonight. Duly impressed. Most of you fools didn't like matilda, which this beer reminds me of, so you probably wouldn't think too highly of sofie, but I find this beer pretty amazing. Saison, fermented with some wild yeasts ( a slight brett twang is apparent) , partially aged in wine barrels with orange peels. Compared to matilda, this is a bit spicier and more tart, definitely a bit funkier and slightly lower in alcohol, with a stronger citric flavor from the orange rind. Maybe I'll drink a matilda afterwards to compare. This stacks up nicely to any saison I've tried, belgian or otherwise...
  12. drinking one of these right now and enjoying it thoroughly.
  13. You fermented it in plastic, or bottled it in plastic? Either way, I don't see why taste would be affected. Glass carboys are preferable for fermentation as they are easier to clean and less likely to scratch and hold dirt and bacteria than plastic buckets, but my friends have made (and continue to make) great beers in both.
  14. Awesome catches. I dont know where exactly you are but this must be the only line in the northeast that lacks any ich or YME panels.
  15. Good taste, I just posted them in the fem vocals thread the other day, along with a confession of my love for Lisa Lobsinger.
  16. girls wearing skate shoes and hoodies and shit and pretending to skate is one thing. But my personal pet peeve is white chicks with dreadlocks that listen to jam bands and wear skate shoes and flat brimmed new era hats while rocking a sun dress.
  17. Here are some excellent John Peel Session recordings to get this thread back in action. 18. I don't know what you all are thinking not liking Matilda. That is one fucking delicious beer and it's one of my absolute favorites. The Sofie and Pierre Jacques are great as well.
  19. Cool, this is the first worthwhile thing I've seen on twitter.
  20. I didn't love the hairy eyeball... one of my least favorite lagunitas beers this year. Just copped a wilco tango foxtrot the other night and enjoyed it, though.
  21. Yeah there's no avoiding the comparison.
