PHILADELPHIA - A double shooting Friday night left one man dead in North Philadelphia as the city's homicide total maintains a deadly pace more than 20 percent ahead of last year. Gunfire was reported at about 10:20 p.m. near West Lehigh Avenue and North Ringgold Street, police said.
A 20-year-old and a 21-year-old were shot in the street, police said. The 21-year-old was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, while the other man was in stable condition at Temple University Hospital. There was no immediate word on suspects or motive.
