  1. im ridin round and im gettin it
  2. anil gupta's a boss. look at his work apart from the micro tats he kills it. i saw him getting tattooed by guy/filip/booth/jack. if the only tattoo i had was from those 4 dudes i wouldnt be rushing out to get covered in a bunch of other rubbish either. also nice bob shaw pic! wanted to add i think ben grillo is one of the best doing it right now. both deserve respect. grillo's stuff might be more what's "in" or something maybe that's another reason he gets a pass for tiny tats and anil gets crumbed on.
  3. i like how mclovin lives on momona street. momona means "fat" in hawaiian. my screen name means like "rascal" or "mischief maker" in hawaiian.
  4. honestly no your boy isn't on the right track at all. if he's tattooing less than 1yr, he shouldnt have even tried those tattoos. way beyond his skill level. when i started learning almost 13yrs ago my mentor only let me do quarter-size kanjis, hearts butterflies etc.. i got impatient and decided to do big pieces at home on my friends. now i'm super embarassed of those tattoos and realize i never should've done them back then. i hope your boy will be embarassed for posting those on here someday, that would mean he's really on the right track. for now dude just needs to fall back and work hard on his drawing cause his drawing and his tattooing both fall way short of being a professional right now. ps--had to add that before i even got to do the quarter size kanjis i spent like 8 months being the errand boy scrubbing tubes and all that. so i would say that whoever is apprenticing homeboy is letting him bite off way more than he can chew which i dont personally feel is the right way to teach someone. baby steps mang.
  5. i thought that pic above was about how white people love the redsox. the only time boston suburb townies have something good to say about black dominicans is if they're hitting homeruns for the saaahx dudeguy.
  6. is this mike brown who used to work for south china sea, good time charlies etc.? i was fortunate enough to meet that dude when he was working at skin deep in honolulu. a tattooer's tattooer. that's a big loss RIP!!!
  7. any or all of the above. in jail you still have soap and water. also sometimes you can get listerine at the commissary to cut the ink which disinfects it--they also make graywash with ink and listerine. i'd never get a tattoo in jail but thats how they don't end up looking like that (except when they do end up looking like that lol)
  8. is that the same nover from the bad tattoos thread? lolololol!!!! i hope ur armtat drawing is in your portfolio.
  9. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1051212533&sk=photos my personal faves are the portraits and lettering but the whole portfolio is gold.
  10. also, for graphic design a certificate or 2yr program is more than enough. you're still gonna have to compete for jobs with people who learned the software on their own and are willing to do the work for $8hr. contrary to what they tell you in 4yr art schools, you will be making clipping paths for a living for years and no one cares about all the bauhaus design/swiss typography b.s. you talk about in those mind numbing "critiques."
  11. as a art school dropout i'd describe it like a summer camp for adults. if your parents wont mind supporting you into your 30's, then go for it. the industrial design prof. at the school i went to said anyone majoring in the fine arts should save their tuition money and use it towards living in some hipster part of town, being at the right parties with the right look, and "schmoozing" with people (his words.) he said thats a better path toward becoming successful in the art world than going to the school where he taught. but if you have an extra $150,000 laying around then go for it.
  12. wow. the fingerwaves. giant face panther cover up for sure. edit cause i cant even see a panther. face 8-ball oner.
  13. if you wanna tattoo in miami beach or by a military base that dream can easily be a reality. i just did a tribal 1/2 sleeve into a tribal tiger chest panel that also connects to a full upper back tribal with a black and red yinyang in the middle. dude did a 6hr sitting every week for a month. zone out is a great way to describe it. i watched every movie i've wanted to catch up on for the last year.
  14. tattoo is fresh its probly smudged ink on skin. or hoe is a dirtneck like you said.
  15. i like that lichtenstein (sp?) tattoo and i like the one jesus got to. nice lettering and banner.
  16. yea cholo hands were invented in tennessee you aint know?
  17. hey can you repost those hocus tags one more time? how about you post them in the springfield thread again to? three times isnt enough. doin it big!!

  19. i got on here in late '00 or early 01. my sn was garcia_vega. the golden years of 12oz
  20. oahu hawaii---zippy's at pearlridge mall, and the one on south king st. in makiki. not all zippy's are bad, but those 2 gave me food poisoning. also L&L in waipahu. atlanta, ga---wendy's in the west end, also mrs. winners in thomasville. every time. brooklyn, ny--the white castle on myrtle ave near pratt institute. thought i was gonna die. jacksonville, fl--crystal burger on beach blvd. kicked my ass. i pretty much eat something that makes me sick in every city i go to. ironically, i've visited 2 "3rd world" countries and never had the runs in either of them.
  21. this is a real quote from a white supremacist dude i used to deliver pizza with: "the gooks came from aliens, the (n-words) came from monkeys, and the white man came from god" he went on to tell me that hispanics and other races were simply a mix of alien, monkey, and god. the ufo went over china to check in on their colony. think about it...why are asians so good at math?
  22. i been smoking green for 18yrs and i just tried some jwh last month. i dont like it at all. wouldnt smoke it again. its not like weed. it just made me feel like i took some nyquil. i've also heard stories of terrible side effects such as insomnia and withdrawal symptoms. thumbs down.
  23. are you familiar with korea? because i have a theory that most people like every episode of bourdain except the one he does in the city they're from. for example, my least favorite is hawaii, because i felt there was historically inaccurate info about the food and he went to more touristy restaurants than local spots. but overall i give the man his props.
