  1. JoeCorbo: I know you are Rapid T. Your writing style, plus the fact that you attend shareholder meetings, gives you away. Boxcarro: keep it on topic, bub. We all have some form of eccentricity/mental illness but dude, you realize this is a graff forum. Also, knock off the all-capital letters. As for me, I'm doing the orchard thing in the Northwest, still ridin', still trampin'. Had a couple close shaves and made some new friends, sometimes old ones fade away but you find some good people out on the road. Plenty of bad ones but the good ones make up for it. A lot of new kids have not learned the hobo ethic: share everything in equal portions- that means food, beer, other refreshments. I met some kids at the catchout in Portland last month and one of the first things they said to me was " Hey, uh, we all just pitched in for this meal we're about to cook, so we can't give you any." I wish some old-timers like Ka-Bar had been there to give them hell. I offered to share my smoke when I pulled out my pipe.
  2. Hey Kabar what's up man it's Murt i stayed in your hooch and tagged it a year ago now?, unfortunately I caught out right before you called back, that train I caught just took me to Settegast but after a couple hours of getting eaten by skeeters including running out of the wide open yard so i didnt get switched I caught a 48 up to Little Rock and then Salem IL before i rode back to Houston and out on the sand line to CA. Hopefully we'll get to meet up sometime. I saw someone was writing about Iraq vets, Jobo is probably the only person I know of who went to Iraq that's ended up riding trains. He's a hell of a motherfucker with the curse of the Irish. He beat another rider half to death with a lead pipe for trying to steal his gear and will fight anyone who gets on his nerves. We get along good but you don't want to be on his bad side for sure. Rolling, dixiebeer any of you guys seen him? I'm hoping he's still free and not back in the pen.
  3. alright here's the current scoop on mexican RR's. TFM no longer exists, it's now KCS de Mexico (kcsm). Ferromex is FXE. ferrosur (mexcity to veracruz, coatzacoalcos, oaxaca, etc) is FSRR. these are the 3 big RR's (the 1st 2 are class I's). Linea Ferrocarril Coahuila-Durango (LFCD) is a regional out of torreon. carrizo gorge railway is a shortline between TJ and tecate. Ferrocarril y Terminal del Valle de México (Ferrovalle) is terminal rr building trains in mex city, i dont think they own freight cars but just units, switch units at that. FCCM no longer exists and neither does the guatemalan rrs. thought you guys might want to know what the current stat is as i just got back from mexico. 3 big uns, 1 regional, and 1 shortline. thats really it.
  4. hey kabar, some questions- 1 about staying out of sight-it is alright to ride piggybacks without sidewalls? otherkinds of cars like that? only at night? should you plan to be 100 fucking % out of sight whilst riding? 2 should you stay totally out of sight of yardworkers? you said the train crew recently told you about a better car to ride than the grainers you and stretch and burl were in. is this usual or would they kick u off more likely? how about asking yardworkers for schedule info? is this chill? 3 :king: thanks homes, i've come back every month to check this thread for years but never posted here.
